It's of the grid, but that alone is already enough reason to go there. Amazing lowners, staff and surroundings. Do the tubbing, chance of seeing the kingfisher. We would recommend to stay at least three nights.

    Nada. Don’t forget mosquito repellent!

Gorgeous place right next to the river. Comfortable rooms, amazing food, and the perfect place to relax! We are grateful for our time here and would recommend you stay more than one night to get the most out of the experience. Highly recommend the tours and the Copal ceremony!

I loved quiet and remote it was. The hike to get there was beautiful, I loved seeing the fog in the montains in the morning. I'll miss the team kindness, and the family dinner !

Amazing location really enjoyed my stay + yoga area is great. Very thoughtfully and beautifully built hostel. Fully off the grid but a fairly easy hike to it. didn't even visit semuc as I enjoyed exploring the area so much it is truly beautiful. Everything 10/10 other than the kitchen- you can't keep too much stuff in the fridge (luckily I had stuff for sandwiches) and the hob is off limits (understandable given gas prices) Heard from other guests that the cooked meals you could buy were small portions and were often hungry after. Do keep in mind that rooms, bathrooms and kitchens are spaced apart and lots of stairs! Dorm was nice (brilliant spot for stargazing) but my mattress was sunken and could feel my bones touching the bedframe underneath

I would have appreciated to know a few more details about the way to the hostel - which has its challenges, but is absolutely worth it!

It’s a beautiful hostel with very friendly owners and staff, amazing food and a lot of space to just hang around and relax.

Hiking over the broken bridge felt dangerous (especially in the rain). Slightly unclear rules about whether guests can use the kitchen which could do with clarifying.

Great location, surrounded by nature and away from it all. Lovely that you have to walk there. Dinner was really good quality. Cabin room was super comfortable and private. Staff friendly and family feeling.

The mattress of the dormitory is really thin, so not really comfortable.

The hostel is located in nature from where you can reach the Semuc Champey with an hour walk. The kitchen and common area is really nice and chill. Just remember to take your grocery as last shops are in Lanquin Martha cooks really nice dinners (60Q), lunch and breakfast also available.

    Saying goodbye

A purely magical place, great staff, authentic food cooked freshly every day by local people. It’s a bit far off but that‘s the best thing about it: No cars, just the sounds of the jungle and river closeby but still good location to reach the nice spots in the area

To leave this place was hard!

The hostel is lost in a green paradise. You can swim on the river and enjoy the beauty of fauna and flore around. The local staff is very nice, especially the manager who is very helpful. Definitely best place to stay for people who want to experience a more unique stay than in a traditional hostel. You have to walk 25min along the river to reach the hostel, so it's better to have a backpack. They will send you a guide to walk with you, it's very safe and the walk is not hard. It's totally worth it! Bring your food if you wanna cook because there is no shop nearby. You can also sign up for meals and it's not expensive.

No shops nearby, so you must buy everything in advance!

It was our favourite hostel during the whole trip! The personnel was very friendly, the food amazing, the atmosphere magical, and the views stunning! It was great to listen to the River and observe the stars by the bonfire each night <3 moreover, the hostel offers also a range of cool activies, such as tubing or chocolate making classes! I wholeheartedly reccomend visiting this place!!!!

Beds aren't the comfiest. The toilets are quite far away from the dorms but that's all explained at check in and they said they're hoping to add more in. Also the hike in is not the nicest with your backpack on, but that probably is due to my fitness levels. It's definitely an adventure to reach the hostel.

The food made at the the hostel is so good, nice family style meals for breakfast and dinner to get to know the other guests. All of the staff and guides are super nice, I did the Semuc Champey tour (which includes an 1.5 hike, views are insane, super sweaty though ngl) and Oscar (our guide) was lovely and knowledgeable.

Did not get to do the chocolate making but that's ok! Everything else was great

Adenai and Esteban were great! Our private room was comfy clean and amazing, the views were incredible and the other guests were cool. Great location right on the river by a small waterfall. Shower was only cold water but very clean, along with the bathrooms.
