Perfect location for a stay in Rio Dulce. The owner and his team take care of everything from a tasty breakfast to the perfect dinner and a chocolate afterwards. There is plenty of information available on activities all at a reasonable price or if you prefer you can relax near the river or at the communal areal where there is always someone to talk to. The house we rented was perfectly quiet, the communal diner was nice to meet a lot of interesting people. If you ever visit this region in Guatemala, make sure to stay here.

What I didn’t like about the place? I actually cannot think of anything that was not good.

Totally liked the place! It’s located on the river with kajaks, tubes and hammocks for either active or relaxing time. I loved the shared breakfast/lunch/dinner in the common area where the kitchen staff is does an amazing job. Ten points for this place! 🏅

The toilet for the shared bathroom is literally across the whole hotel through the jungle. At night, under the rain, with all insects around it really isn’t ideal. That’s the only thing I disliked.

We had an amazing 3 night stay here. It was lovely staying right on the side of a river just off the Rio dulce and very relaxed and peaceful. There’s a range of activities on offer to keep you busy if you like. But most of all, all of the staff were very kind and friendly and work very hard to make sure you enjoy your stay and are comfortable. Kevin always offered to help us arrange activities and went above and beyond to help us get back a bit of lost property after we had left the hotel and moved onto another location! Oh and the bread here is the best bread in Guatemala! Thank you for a lovely stay!

workers working around doing maintenance and cleaning all the different areas so i felt a little uncomfortable BUT seeing as it way my choice to just stay in the hostel my entire stay i think this is personal experience to myself because most people go out on excursions and probably wouldn’t notice it

The location is beautiful. Located at the river, but still in the jungle, with dedicated areas for chilling and for you to enjoy the place. Very nicely done. They have rooms for 1 person, which was ideal for me. They allow dogs :) Room was spacious enough, bed was comfortable, and quite private. Food for delicious! Good portions. I love their idea of communal dinners. Staff very friendly, very helpful! Tim is an amazing host - knows a lot about the area, how to get around and give the best recommendations.

Staying at Hotelito Perdido is the perfect way to disconnect, really a great place to rest! The personnel is also super nice and helpful! For solo travellers, please note that the place is very popular with Dutch people so dinner might be awkward if they don't make the effort to switch to English (This tainted my social experience a bit but I guess it was just bad luck on my end 😊).

I would definitely recommend staying here! The location is perfect for relaxing, visiting livingston and kayaking. The food is good and the staff friendly. The activities they offer are also great and are organised by the local community.

I can't describe how great this little slice of heaven on the Rio Dulce is! From the location, the staff, the amazing host Tim, the shared dinners and all the furry mascots. It was perfect! We couldn't be more happy about the time we spend here. Definitely recommend and the only place in Guatemala we would re book in a heartbeat

Hotelito Perdido lies in the middle of the mangroves of Rio Dulce, that is what makes it special. You get the amenities that you would expect from any other hostel plus the quiet that comes with that location. Theres enough activities to fill at least 5 days, and if that is not enough for you, you can spend the same amount of time just sampling the amazing menu and enjoying Rio Dulce.
