How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe only positive thing about this hotel was the view, which was really nice. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing and did not meet expectations.
For the high price of the top-floor rooms with a jacuzzi, the experience was terrible. The jacuzzi was dirty, old, and very worn out — it was honestly scary to use. Black water was leaking from behind the headrests, and there was visible mold both in the bathroom and in the room itself. The room size was also nothing like what was stated on Booking — it was at least half the size, extremely cramped, and very uncomfortable to stay in. To make matters worse, we got the worst of the four top-floor rooms, which was not even shown in the pictures on Booking. At first, the staff refused to move us, even though it was clear we were not given the room we expected. For the price charged, this was absolutely unacceptable. The only positive point remains the view from the 39th floor, and sadly, nothing else.

Verified reviewMany restaurants and shopping nearby ,Transportation is quite convenient.
The staff's attitude is average. They were unsmiling.I stayed here for 7 days ,when I need help,I call the front desk so many times, but no one answered the phone call. The mattress was very hard and I got lower back pain after sleeping there for two nights. The air conditioner and bathroom exhaust were extremely noisy and gave me a headache.

Verified reviewThe staff were nice and helpful.
I book a double bed but they cannot arrange. The bathing area is too small and the shower curtain will stick to the body when bathing. Some stain find on the towel three times.

Verified reviewPoor quality thin rotten hand towels for a shower !!!! I guess you only provide materials according to the price of the room. No bottle water. Dirty carpet with body hair. Also body hair in the bathroom I work in the hospitality industry and this is worst experience I have endured in 35 years
From the moment of arrival I could sense this was a mistake for a bad experience

The room I booked was cancelled by the hotel 1 hour before my check-in at 1pm while I was driving to the hotel. They said because the card didn’t match the reservation guest however both of my card match with the guest ( me). I had to book another room, more expensive with lower standard. I asked a room far away from the lift and I got one right in front of the lift. The a/c didn’t work, it was just cold air coming out with water dropping without the possibility to adjust the temperature. Not even a bottle of water No plug next to the bed Bed with hair of previous guests Very dirty and bad location around the hotel The most horrible part was when I first entered the room in the steamy tropical and humid summer of Hong kong, I imediatelly washed my face and the towel i used, that was supposed to be clean, used and dirty , dusty with someone hair and stains. Hygiene needs improvement!

Verified reviewThis hotel is good valuw for Hong Kong prices... it is nothing special...its a good place to base your holiday but there is little luxury here... for me it is ok. I don't spend too much time in my room so it is ok. If you want luxury then i would suggest trying a different hotel.
This hotel is a little old amd a little tied, it needs some TLC... but it is always busy so i guess most people are happy with the value for money

Verified reviewThe location is very convenient, the place is safe and clean.
The rooms are very small, but I knew that when I booked. It is HK style. We stayed twice within two weeks. The flushing water of the toilet during the second stay was brownish, no smell, but gave the sense of lack of hygiene. I liked that there was daily room service, the towels however were very thin and worn.

Verified reviewDespite the size of the room , the place was so clean and the location was perfect
We were surprised when the hotel staff insisted we clean their old towels ourselves or pay HKD 200 because some hair color transferred after showering, despite the towels being visibly worn. This unexpected and unreasonable request affected our overall experience and left us feeling disappointed.
