If you're looking for the cheapest accommodation in downtown Hong Kong, Chungking Mansions is the place. The rooms are extremely small, and so tight that only one person can move at a time.

We recently stayed at this property with our family, which includes four adults and one child, and we were extremely impressed by the landlord’s kindness and responsiveness. From the very first meeting, the landlord was always warm and friendly, greeting us with a smile every time we interacted. During our stay, Hong Kong experienced heavy rainstorms, and unfortunately, we discovered that one of the beds was wet. We immediately took photos and contacted the landlord about the issue. To our delight, they responded right away and quickly arranged for us to move to another room without any hassle. Their prompt action and willingness to resolve the problem made our stay much more comfortable. We truly appreciate the landlord’s hospitality and efficiency in handling the situation. It’s rare to find such a considerate and professional host, and we are all satisfied with our experience / recommended!

The room extremely small, no space for 2 people and suitcases. On our way to the room was dirty and small pack of items. The waiting for the elevator was desperate, the shower uncomfortable no space. The TV never works, the refrigerator and microwave was available outside the room. Not a Pleasant stay. The outside won’t feeling safe.

Drop off luggage was a disaster. I had to wait a long time for somebody to help me. Especially after a long flight. I would have like some cutlery in my room, especially a spoon for coffee.

Security was very good. Close to everything, and I could walk to places.

Be aware that this isn't a Guest House as we know it. It's a small room in a building and you have to go through a food market to get to it. If you are a solo female traveller or tall, then this is not fur you. The room is only for sleeping as it's so small. The toilet doubles up as the shower!

The central location was good. The room was safe. Samson who met us was very friendly. That's it!

It’s located in the middle of a mall which made it hard to find. It’s also nog very clean. Especially the corridors are are a mess. Filled with old junk that feels like a fire hazard

Just a short walk distance to Victoria Harbor Waterfront. Drinking water, Free WiFi Hot water for showing are Okay. Employee introduced every detail of the room while checking in.

The location was really good for its price and convenient to travel everywhere as there is plenty of buses and there is also a subway just around the corner. The host was really responsive, friendly and helpful. The only thing I dislike is the small elevator and bathroom. There isn’t much space to move around once you are in the bathroom. But I will definitely come back next time.

The building itself (Chungking Mansion) was... an experience. Every time we entered or exited, there would be at least one foreign man trying to sell us something, and there was always a cockroach welcoming us at the ground floor lift. No housekeeping, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just wanted to put it out there. The rooms are REALLY SMALL. The pictures did not lie, but it was still shocking to see in person. There was hardly any space for two people to move around. With that said, our experience did match the price point - so I would recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a short and simple no-frills stay.

Location was wonderful, very close to the harbour and easily accessible by bus/train (minimal walking). We had no communication issues with Samson, our lovely contact person. Every room has windows (purportedly), which did make the small space more bearable. We were allowed to store our luggage somewhere after checkout; however, they were unattended so it was at our own risk.

- Small space as expected in HK - Facilities in the room were a bit old and could be updated/renovated - Chungking Mansion is crowded and has a diverse range of people, but it is a safe place after doing a bit of research (over 2000 CTVs, compliant fire plans, 24/7 security desk)

- Samson, the manager, was really friendly and supported us throughout our stay - Really convenient location - it's literally footsteps away from MTR, mall and restaurants - Near bus stop A21 to and from HK Airport

Great location, near many shops and metro stations, bus stop is very close as well. A little bit hard to find at first so text the owner in advance. The room was small but had everything you need - towels, hair dryer, hot water, drinking water, toiletries.

It was hard to find, and you had to walk by a bunch of creeps to get to the elevator. The worst part is that even though it's a non-smoking room, other rooms in the small hallway are smoking, and the smell is awful coming to and from the room and creeping in a little.

Very small room. If you are tall, you may be cramped. But for the price, it's was as expected.

Staff was extremely helpful. Location is good, and the hostel has everything you need - microwave, kettle, drinking water, wifi - all included. Lots of food around. Staff let us store our bags and was responsive.

Is on 15th floor above a market style shopping centre. Very small - and toilet and sink inside shower cubicle.

Building is in a good location in easy walking distance of the waterfront and good transport hubs. Quiet, clean, comfortable bed. Felt secure.
