Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThere was weird smell, most likely from the cleaning. Also they take a copy of your bank card.

United KingdomThe room was small and was overlooking a busy road during daytime but it was quiet at night and you were able to sleep. Another negative is that the property is not serviced by a lift. I had a large suitcase to carry on the 2nd floor but I got help with it from the reception staff.
The Mingle by the Park hotel is located in central Hong Kong with shops and restaurants nearby as well as a lovely park for relaxing in the afternoon. The property is located within a short walking distance from the Wan Chai MRT station. The hotel reception staff were friendly and polite. They also spoke very good English as I don't speak Chinese and this was very helpful.

United KingdomMy stay here was less than conventional due to fracturing my foot on the third day of my holiday/visit. As such, I experienced both their cheapest and most expensive rooms, with something in the middle for one night. The overall verdict is that this hotel is very good value for money when visiting Hong Kong. For sure, the space in the cheapest room is miniscule and only suitable for one person (couples or families should spend a little more), but the central, easy to assess, location within Wan Chai more than made up for it; besides, it's really only a place where you go to sleep. After my accident, the staff proved to be absolutely amazing. My initial hurdle was that the room I'd booked was only accessible via stairs...I needed a lift (nb: if you have any mobility concerns, avoid these rooms). On return from A&E, I was swiftly reassigned to a lift accessible room and had my luggage brought over. Despite the hotel being at peak capacity due to a big rugby event, the staff were great at ensuring that I remained in a room suitable for my condition. Not only that, they made me feel very at ease and gave me additional offers for support with getting around (including nipping to the shops for essentials). Overall, so long as your expectations are managed regarding the room size, this hotel delivers excellent value for money in an expensive city and the staff will make you feel just as welcome had you gone to a 4 star.

ChinaIf you are a light sleeper, the street is loud and walls are thin. No elevator Room is quite small, might be difficult if you have big luggage.
Location is very good. Not only nearby to metro but lots of good cafes/restaurants and the tram right outside. Staff are direct but accommodating. Room was clean, bathroom very clean. The common space has lots of appliances to use.

United StatesDefinitely hated the 3pm check in. We hated the maze you had to follow to get to the room. We went out the back most of the time. I didn't realize how small the room was, it had room for one all over it. 2 of us would kill each other if we were there a few more days. I think the worst thing besides the check in was the girl at the front. She would do everything she needed to do, but seemed so reluctant, as if her job was the worst thing on the planet and if she could kill us, she would prefer that. Definitely don't ask me vibes... And really 3pm check in???
I like the location. For the price, it was a very good deal. We also met the nice Thai cleaning woman, and she was very nice and sweet. We liked her. We liked the guy at the reception, and that we were able to borrow an umbrella. Even though the room was VERY small, it had just about everything you could want.

SingaporeThe water infused rust drips down to the bed via air-cond vent. Also, the receptionist will ask you to avoid using AMEX when there is a accepted sticker displayed.
The room is clean & tidy but expect water drips on the wall pillar when the air conditioner is not cold enough.

SingaporeThere was a lady who was really rude. She usually takes the reception table in the afternoons. Really really rude. I had the misfortune of checking in when she was around and she was just very verbally abusive. It’s a shame because all the other staff were incredibly friendly.
Most of the staff were really friendly. There was this guy who was at the receoptionist table doing the night shifts who always helped me with anything I needed, and even chatted with me

New ZealandOther staff at reception weren't very friendly, there are stairs from the reception floor to the lift. Being on level 1 wasn't ideal as this room is right across from the common area so if a guest is cooking, doing laundry or just having a chat with other guests it all can be heard (and smelt) in your room so I'd pick a higher floor next time. Balcony had no view and wasn't ideal as it seemed a bit hazardous and full of dust from the surrounding buildings. Perhaps more tea offerings e.g. Earl Grey and Assam, milk and brown sugar.
Booked here sort of at the last minute as I was attending the HK 7s so a lot of hotels were already booked out. I got a free room upgrade which was awesome!!! Housekeepers did a great job, location was the highlight as it's surrounded by a number of eateries, bakeries, retail and more importantly public transport connections (tram, bus and train). The Wan Chai train station is a short walk and Causeway Bay is just a 4 minute train ride on the Island line. You can get to this station via the Airport Express train which goes to the last stop (Hong Kong station) then jump on the Island line from Central station. Alternatively you can catch a taxi from the Hong Kong station but this is more for convenience rather than price. One member at reception was really nice and he would always greet me and we'd have a short chat on my comings and goings. Glad that there was a lift to my floor. Air con was perfect. Walking distance from cafes, supermarkets, restaurants. Pay at property option is great too.

FinlandExcellent location! Loved the buzz of the HK street life (I paid extra for the balcony). However: if you are a light sleeper this hotel might be too noisy for you (both street noises and thin walls so neighbors). Very compact rooms and not much space for luggage, in cabinets or bathroom: but you get used to it, and still would say value for money is good as it is so affordable option :) Good housekeeping daily. Also no elevator, so be prepared to carry your suitcases.

United KingdomPlease note, not ideal for those travelling with many luggage or struggle with stairs. There is an elevator however, not directly accessible and involves some stairs. Also, not ideal for light sleepers as many rooms face the main road.
The double room with balcony was wonderful. I appreciated the traditional decor and vibe of the hotel. I enjoyed the complementary tea and coffees. Space in HK is a premium and the hotel is doing their best. Very good location with close proximity to a tram stop. Nice lady at check-in, remember 500HKD cash security deposit.

United KingdomThe woman behind the desk was the most miserable sour-faced person I have ever met in my life. However I came to realise that most hong-kongers are like this, so I'll take that with a pinch of salt. The building is a total maze, some rooms are serviced by the elevator, others require you to take the elevator to the 6th floor and take the stairs back down.
The location is excellent, I would stay again for this reason alone. You're beside a well kept park, right next to the tram line, and about 5 minutes from a metro station. There's a 24 hour laundry out back, and a 24 hour McDonald's across the road. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. If you need a base of operations to explore Hong Kong island then look no further. The rooms are also rather spacious for Hong Kong, and they're very clean and well kept with brilliant showers. Super comfy beds as well.
