Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanIt's a small bus ride away from the closest MTR station and there isn't too much in the vicinity of the hotel. There's only one convenience store as well. Be careful to not go into the wrong building as several of the buildings in the Rambler complex look so similar.
The location itself is halfway between the airport and downtown HK area, so sort of convenient if you're traveling between the two areas. The room itself is clean and has a great view of the harbor. The room is a good value for the money spent, especially since it's cheaper than many other hotels in HK.

United KingdomRight after check-in, mould was found in the ceiling. Staff cleared it next day after reporting the issue. Not close to any subway station.
Room size is good for one person only, even it has two single bed. Shower water temperature and water pressure are excellent. Toilet is super tiny. Your leg will touch toilet bowl when your wash your hands or brush your teeth. Reasonable walking distance to nearby bus stop or mini-bus stop.

AustraliaThese are only petty, one its forty Hong Kong by taxi to Metro Plaza and MRT. Take their shuttle bus only one each day. But there is a savior, buy an Octopus card and catch the green buses just around the corner. They are very frequent and cost 4.50 Hong Kong Dollars a trip and not only short, but you also never have to wait long. Another gripe, quietness and lack of places to spend. I had read there is a seven eleven and restaurant close by. I had trouble finding them and luckily after roaming the whole area I found a small shopping center at the opposite end one floor below. At last civilization, a supermarket, a seven eleven, a variety store, a Chinese medicine shop, and three restaurants. At last, a beer and a feed. Now let's look at the pool, it's a beauty. Sadly, it doesn't belong to the hotel and the open hours are questionable, half a day forty Hong Kong dollars.
Situated in a quite area of Hong Kong. The hotel is a part of an estate in the dockyards of Hong Kong. I noticed another Hotel next door with a similar name starting with Rambler. Our room was ok; we upgraded to a business room on the very top floor. This also gave us an advantage to view the lights of Hong Kong of a night. The room was nice, quiet and clean and the only thing left for the guest was a soap dispenser in the shower. They claim they are going green, but the truth is it's a money saver. Overall if you like to avoid the crowds this is a perfect spot.

CroatiaHotel's location makes it great place for a layover stay, with very affordable price. Also, the view of the container terminal is simply spectacular; maybe it's not for everyone, but for a ship spotter like me it's the perfect spot.

United StatesCheapest spot I could pick that was closest to the airport (30-40 minutes away). Had a queen bed, which was really 2 full sized beds put together, so you won't be able to sleep in the middle of it. Cold water only ran in the showers. Musty room and had only the bare minimum channels on the TV from antenna. Your clothes are guaranteed to smell sleeping in the room. At least it had a mini fridge and a closet/desk place you can at least have a place to sit and eat on. You'll find charging your stuff fairly hard to find in the room.
