How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewTold the owner to clean the toilet since there was sxxx sticked in the toilet at 8pm, i have to go upstairs another unit to toilet. No one clean the toilet until i left next day morning 8am……..
Do you understand we are not 5 stars hotel and we don't have a cleaner to stand by here to clean the toilet every hour. I told you where to get the cleaning supplies and use another toilet if you can't stand using toilet after someone. We only check our washrooms 3 times a day and remember you were staying in a HOSTEL!!

Verified reviewYou are payong for the location not the accomodation. near MTR and Bus Stations easy access from And to the airport. Near Avenue of Stars and accessible to all tourist attractions.
No receptionist available during my stay so make sure u bring along with u ur keys and no one will help you with check-in/check-out though it will be instructed through message. Daily cleaning on common areas and inside the room is not available. Comfort room is not comfortable it stinks! Room AC does not provide enough coldness for everyone whose staying!

Verified reviewIt's completely misleading! Not a hostel or similar, just a few broom closet apartments impossible to find. The owner is totally unprofessional , showing up late after you've arrived at night. Absolutely disaster! Avoid this listing by all cost!!
FRIST OF ALL! We were calling police because you were drunk every single night and you scared all other guests and my staff. You were banging our door in the middle of the night on your last night which concerned by our neighours and you've damaged our room door. The most funny part of you was you came back after 2 days you checked out and tried to sneak it to our hostel. We still have all the footages on our CCTV and we have filed a report to the police already. DON'T EVER COME BACK AND KICK OUR FRONT DOOR AGAIN!

Verified reviewStaff very friendly. Nice common area in building where hostel is but not everyone stays in this building. Balcony amazing and proper showers and toilets in corridor for people to share. If only the building we were moved to could have updated facilities like the official building has.
Unfortunately we were moved to a different building which was essentially a living room with 4 beds, that had 2 bedrooms coming off. There was 1 bathroom between 10 beds. No common space in that building, facilities old, no space for luggage, entrance to building dirty.

Verified reviewAs many have noted, the location of this hostel is excellent, with numerous sights within walking distance and the metro nearby. The beds were sturdy, and the curtains were a blessing. The wifi was strong and stable!
It is worth noting that I was placed in the other building. What's more, I was in the open room area, meaning a constant stream of people walked past my bed to go in and out, opening and closing doors, turning the light on and off, and laughing all night. There are a lot of humans crammed into a tight space, so earplugs are essential! Access to drinkable water would have been appreciated.

Verified reviewGreat location, just next to subway station, a minute walk from a bus stop where you can get a bus to the airport. There are many restaurants and places to visit nearby. The hostel is accessible by lift. The owners are flexible, let me extend the stay with no hassle. Brilliant price to quality ratio.
Not sure if I was bitten by a mosquito or some other bug or the bed covers weren't clean, so got some rush on my skin but otherwise the place is clean.

Verified reviewPerfectly sufficient if ur in just to sleep. Very comfortable. A little cramped but thts bc its HK. Used the microwave n mugs. Small balcony w a great view. Great location.
- I couldnt get the hot water to work :( it had to br turned a certain way, pls ask staff to show. - Its stated in fine print tht the hostel is on the 14th floor, somehow everyone in the dorm (solo travellers) missed this. Also you had to enter a building w another name, and there are no signages to show the hostel is there. A few (myself included) walked around a few times to figure it out. - counter not always manned

Verified reviewOnly real positive is the location- right next to Tsim Sha Tsui station and therefore easy to get to from any place in Hong Kong.
Beds were very hard (although didn’t hinder sleep that much), small communal area, staff not around much (but when the housekeeper was there she could be a little cold and unfriendly), locked out my room a few times due to crappy door system. No atmosphere at all, bear in mind if you are a solo traveller. The hostel is not as advertised making it on the whole bad in my book considering the high price, but it’s a convenient stay location wise.
First of all, our hostel is low in capacity now as it is low season. Only 2-3 guests were staying in the hostel as the same time as you stayed. You locked yourself out of the room was because you forgot to bring your key with you and nothing to do with our lock system. No atmosphere because no one was staying in your room. You should be grateful that you own the whole 6 female dorm for yourself. How do we create atmosphere for you as no one was staying in the hostel. High price? What world are you coming from. $15 USD a night high price? This is HONG KONG not third world country. Do your research before you come.

I wish the communal space was larger but I understand that space is limited due to the general living situations in Hong Kong.
