How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at MANURII, it's a true gem! We liked everything about it: the beautifully detailed room, the complimentary Honduran coffee, waking up to the soothing sounds of birds, and the relaxing hammock right in front of our room. The infinity pool was fantastic, especially in the evenings and at night; it's one of the deepest we've encountered, making it perfect for practicing snorkeling or just chilling. We initially booked for just 2 days but ended up extending to 4 because we couldn't get enough. Utila itself is a marvelous destination, and the hotel's recommendations for restaurants and stunning beaches were spot on. We'll definitely be back! One tip: Rent a bike to explore the island, it's an awesome way to get around.
Honestly, nothing at all, it was perfect for us. We hated that we had to leave 🥲

Verified reviewEverything was wonderful from the beautiful grounds to the pool to the room. The owner was so helpful with everything. He made dinner reservations for us and even had someone pick up my son’s laundry. He also gave us great advice for our move to the island. I would highly recommend Manurii for your stay on Utila.
We loved everything about the property.

Verified reviewEverything about our stay at Manurii was fantastic! The location is fantastic, close to all the fun bars and restaurants in town, but far enough away that you feel like you're in your own tropical oasis! The grounds are beautiful, there's a huge and wonderful bar, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
I should have stayed longer!!

Verified reviewGreat location, away from the hustle and bustle of the main street but within short walking distance from the centre of town and Chepes Beach. The place has a lovely garden setting and a pleasant bar area next to the large (and very deep!) pool. The owner, Enno, was very friendly and helped us with restaurant recommendations & bookings and organising a tour out to Water Cay.
The bar is open all hours and operates on an honesty system, which is great but means that we were kept awake by people drinking and shouting down there until 3 or 4am some nights. The house lights also seem to stay on all night so the rooms could do with blackout blinds as between the noise and the light we found it quite hard to sleep. Cleaning of the rooms was a bit haphazard. Rooms are nicely decorated but could do with a refresh - eg we had a toilet seat that didn't fit the bowl and one of the lights didn't work properly.

Bees in the bathroom…I know it is a forested area and there are wildlife around but scary to walk into bathroom with bees buzzing! Need to address gap between window and screen.
Thank for your review :) We had issues with bees 3 days ago. They where looking for a new home and liked MANURII. We called a professional who took the queen and her folk and gave them a new home. So no more bees here. As you said already: here is a lot of nature :) Thanks again for staying with us!

Verified reviewGood location
Pool wasn’t working when we were there Staff rude No pool towels No bar No coffee in the morning Poor birds locked away in cages.
ITS FAKE! To our future guests: Please read the review of Pamela, she was here at the same time as "Becky" booked. The difference is, that we received Beckys money, but she never checked in. That gives her the right to leave us a review. Our pool was and is working, we even had a fotoshooting with Pamelas jewerly. Our staff is very welcoming and we have pool towles. The bar is self service if we are not behind it. Coffee is free in the morning at MANURII. We are a bird sanctuary. That means that we rescue birds and give them a new life here in our big avairy (which is bigger than in a zoo). Shame on you that you are harming this little hotel and its staff. We know who is behind it.

Verified reviewA true gem tucked among tropical gardens! The setting was absolutely beautiful — quaint, peaceful, and full of charm. It’s a wonderful boutique-style place that feels cozy and special. I loved meeting the friendly dog and cat that live there — they just added to the warm, welcoming vibe. The owner was fantastic — so helpful and forthcoming with information, setting up reservations, and offering great recommendations on where to go. It made our stay even better. It was truly a fabulous experience. I would absolutely stay here again. Beautiful, beautiful place — highly recommend! Would you also like a second, slightly shorter version if you want to copy/paste into a spot with a smaller word limit? (Like if you're posting on multiple platforms!) Or one that's a little more casual if you want it to sound even more "like you're talking to a friend"?

Verified reviewNo breakfast.
The property is on a hill. The entrance road is cracked and pitted. Need to be repaved. The debris from the palms trrees needs to be cleaned daily.
Dear Tim, please check your confirmation, we dont offer breakfast. We never did. We are located in the Jungle. This is also clear mentioned on Booking. We like our driveway and will not change it as it is very natural and part of our concept. We hope other people will read your feedback as we are located on a hill side with fantastic views over the jungle and as well to the ocean. You had issues to walk and this is totaly understandable that you did not like the driveway. Please check your next hotel on your Travel List to avoid any issues. Thanks again for your review! It just showed us to be more clear that we are an adventure place :)

The staff were super friendly , helpful and approachable. The pool was immaculate and a social hub for guests. We're only a few steps from the main road where you could easily find tuk tuks, which you're so close by walk to everything anyway and plenty of restaurants. The public beach is about 5 min walk from here. Enno the owner is always accessible through WhatsApp and we loved him !! So happy here !!
