We loved our stay. Is low season and it was quiet and peaceful.... had the whole beach and pool practically to ourselves!

One restaurant at hotel. Not a ton of options. But that was ok.

    Property response:

Thank you for your review. We hope you choose to stay with us again if you return to Roatan. There is a restaurant at the beach El Velero Azul and another one the other side of the parking lot just after you enter the guard gate. Smokey Grill. There is another a short walk outside the gate and a place that serves inexpensive takeaway lunches across the street next to the convenience store, bakery and coffee shop.

Close to the ferry and airport with transport included. A few restaurants in waking distance (only one one Sunday though).

The room is great and the location is perfect. I also live transportation is provided.

Nothing with the room however we had issues getting breakfast at the restaurant. We never did get our breakfast. This really has nothing to do with the room itself though.

    Property response:

Thanks Verna! We appreciate the excellent review and your repeat visits. Alex is going to speak to the restaurant manager about addressing the breakfast issue. Hope y'all had a safe trip home.

The room was very comfortable and had the basic amenities. The property was nice to walk around and hang by the pool or at the beach.

There was a coffee pot but no coffee was provided and the water cooler was very finicky to get working. The shower could have been cleaned better.

    Property response:

Thank you for taking the time to make the review. I wish you would have just told Alex or I that we forgot to put in the coffee packet. We would have brought you one immediately. We would have also brought you a gallon of water. The water cooler was a new addition so we were unaware of the issue until a different guest let us know. We are on property and you had our whatsapp numbers and told you to let us know if you needed anything at all. We are always available to our guests. I apologize about the rust stain from the hard water on the shower floor. I assure you it is thoroughly cleaned.

Friendly host and shuttle driver, good restaurant.

I would recommend updating the bathroom, heavy mineral deposits on plumbing fixtures.

    Property response:

Thank you for the review. The fixtures were replaced less than a year ago unfortunately the water here is extremely hard so there is not much more we can do. We are pricing a water softening system to add to the filters we currently have.

Alex was a great guy... picked us up at the ferry terminal and delivered us to the airport the next morning. Very friendly and informative. The pool there is amazing and we had it all to ourselves.

There was nothing that we didn't like

The people at the restaurant and bar

    Property response:

I apologize that the restaurant could not get your soccer game on the TV and that you tried to not pay for your breakfast although you were well aware that it was not included. This was beyond the restaurants staffs control and they should not be blamed. Your behavior at the restaurant was not appropriate either. We were notified since we are responsible for our guests behavior. I was going to report you to booking.com but thought you were just having a bad day so I gave you the benefit of doubt.

The huge pool was refreshing and very clean. We didn't have any issues with sand fleas or mosquitoes as we've had in the past at other Roatan hotels. Free pickup at the ferry and transportation to the airport was fabulous. Our driver showed up early and quickly got us to where we wanted to go. They give you a free gallon of water when you arrive since you can't drink the tap water in Honduras. There are two restaurants on site that have great menus and service. The property is between the ferry and airport and close to both of them for a short commute. This property seems to be more for residents as there seemed to be more older clientele there for longer stays. Property was nice, quiet and exactly what we needed for a short stay over.

Our room was missing hooks to hang up towels in the bathroom. At one point we ran out of toilet paper but there wasn't anyone we could ask for more since there really isn't an onsite office.

    Property response:

Thank you for the amazing review. I apologize for the misunderstanding. We are private owners of this unit (las palmas Joliet) listed here on booking.com. Most units in Las Palmas are privately rented. That is why Alex gave you his whatsapp number and he told you to message him if you needed anything. Or you could have sent a message to us through booking.com. We would definitely have gotten you more toilet paper or anything else you needed. Again I apologize for the confusion. We will try to be clearer in the future and we definitely hope to see y'all again.

One night stay because of ferry/flight timing. The resort definitely has seen its best time. Plusses: Pick up from the ferry terminal and drop off at the airport included. 40% discount at the beach bar. Nice beach. Minus: strong sewer smell outside of the room. Sandflies...(But that's Roatan, the property can't help that). We showed up at 9am for breakfast (not included) only to be told that the cook already cooked 30 breakfasts, no more breakfast (officially till 10am). But we could order from the lunch menu....

    Property response:

We reported your breakfast situation to restaurant management and apologize that it happened. We realized you really only stayed here because you had to when you were discussing in the shuttle about trying to just go straight to the airport and again when you told me you were only staying with us because you had to. Hopefully next time you can make it straight to the airport and avoid the inconvenience. We try our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible but it's difficult when you really didn't want to stay in the 1st place. We hope everything went better for you on your way home.

ENG: I really loved that the hotel was basically next to the airport, so that we could enjoy a little bit more of the seashore and actually that the hotel is at literally like 50 feet from the seashore. The personnel are very nice, they will be willing to help you or offer you any kind of service they have available. The room is comfy, clean was prepared, they even left a couple of coups and a pouch of instant coffee, sugar, and stirrers next to the coffee maker and after it we received a gallon of purified water. The room had a refrigerator, so that if you are satiated, you don't have to worry about where to store the food, it also has a microwave. You'll find towels, shampoo, hair conditioner, and body wash provided, a hair dryer and even a "security box" to store important stuff. The pools are always lukewarm, they have 2 of them, one for children and another one that will go about 2 meters deep in some areas to have fun if you're a skilled swimmer. The beach is astonishing, you'll be able to take a look at the cruise ships that come to the Island, and if you need to go anywhere else on the island, just get outside the hotel to the street, and wait for a white car, those are the taxis, that because of the hotel being near the airport, you'll find always a taxi 24/7. People are very, very nice and you'll surely make friends there!

ENG: There are very few things I'd complain about, that if those are fixed, the experience would have been perfect! First of all: Communication. We had talked to Alex and agreed to do a Snorkeling tour on the second out of our three day trip, the day we arrived, he then told us that he was waiting for a couple more passengers to get on the boat, plus the captain didn't show up that day. We waited for about 6 hours for the trip, when then a member of the restaurant told us that Alex was not there anymore, because he had an activity with a family member as it was father's day in Honduras and thus he had left the hotel. That was pretty understandable, and we could understand that family is important to celebrate and as I told a member of the hotel, if that was the case, we could have headed to Gumbalimba Park in the west bay area or take a taxi to somewhere else and find a Snorkeling tour and that was it, but we were tod that Alex would call for the captain and then we could take the snorkeling tour, wasting half of our most important activity day. At the end, Alex asked for pardon and excused, yet as mentioned. We could understand that he had an activity with family, if we were told since the very morning that father's day was being celebrated there, we could have figured that out. At the end we had to rush next day to west bay and thank God we found a nice taxi driver that even found a Snorkeling tour for an affordable price for us. Please, don't be afraid of communicating if you have something else to do, people will surely understand, what they won't understand is lack of honesty and betrayal when promising and activity that after all will be paid, that at the end was not performed. Second: Rocks. The seashore is a little bit rocky in some places and you could hurt your feet if you don't have enough protection.

    Property response:

Thank you for the excellent review and also for the constructive criticism. We hope you decide to stay with us again if you are ever in Roatan.

Nice room for one night. Pick up / drop off from airport / ferry port was perfect. Great communication from hosts. Could use the beach and pool.

The resort itself is pretty much set up for cruise ship passengers. Probably wouldn't stay longer than a stop off between airport and ferry.
