Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe noseeums can be hellacious if they decide they like you. Make sure to research the best repellant specifically for noseeums and stock up before you go. You will be applying it every day. For these stinging Valkyrie of the devil, The winter is not as bad as the summer. Avoid lobster specific dishes; it is previously frozen, tough, and salty, salty, salty.
This is a great base for diving, the boat is on site and the dive spots are nearby. The more you dive, the better the prices get. The staff is kind, conscientious and helpful. The resort itself has beautiful greenery, shady trees and stone paths. Taxi Boats to West End stop there and West Bay is a quick walk away. The simple breakfast is nice, the coffee excellent and always available. Potential drinks are poured at a reasonable price and there is a 2 for 1 happy hour. The pasta and fish dishes are yummy, the seafood soup is very good. Transfers to airport and help with any issues or necessities that might arise.

United StatesNot a complaint, but the times we ordered from the menu (not breakfast), the restaurant ran more on island time, even at off-times when there were fewer customers. But the food was always delivered hot and tasty.
The location is close enough but not too close to everything on West Bay. The restaurant deck, terrace and pool on the water's edge were so relaxing, The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enjoyable with a daily "hot" special to accompany the fruit and breads, and the senior morning breakfast attendant was particularly pleasant and always one step ahead with coffee and the hot plate. The lunch/dinner food was good and decently priced. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean.

United StatesThe water pressure in the shower could be a little better, and the mattress is a bit too firm/springy - whenever my fiance moved at night, it trampolined me a little, decreasing the quality of my sleep. While the area is known for no-see-ums and mosquitoes, you can manage this pretty well by keeping the main door and bathroom door shut (though I think mosquitoes were coming in through the shower drain)
Fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, and a rotating hot plate menu included every morning for breakfast was great! The dinner and happy hour were good enough that we never ate anywhere else. The location was minutes away from West Bay beach, but offset by a little to give more privacy. Private dock and dive shop on the premises (though I did not dive with them). AC was outstanding.

United StatesWe had a cabana with mini-fridge stacked with drinks and snacks. They had an interesting rule that if the customers remove the items and placed our personal items that they will charge $15 per day usage. We had an a/c which is nice; however, it had an irregular “ticking” noise and was annoying at night when we were sleeping. We mentioned this issue with the front desk staff and we don’t think that the maintenance man figured out how to fix it.
We stayed for 4 nights. It was a good value oceanview resort in a quiet area. Our lodging rate included breakfast. Our room has a double bed and a twin bed. It was spacious. The room does not have a safe and the front office has a safe for customers. The only drawback is that a customer can only access it at certain times. I learned that it was because there are only select people that has access which make it more secure. There is a security guard that patrols the resort. The resort had a restaurant and bar. It had a nice view of the ocean and it was nice to see sunsets. It has a very small pool which is more like a jacuzzi. The resort is next to a small beach. There was a walking path to the resorts/hotels/restaurants/bars & white sand beaches of West Bay. This was one of the benefits of staying in this resort. It was in a secluded and secure location yet walking distance to many key places.

United StatesRestaurant overall and included breakfast were meh,, staff pretty blasé. Eggs might be ice. Cold, drinks might be served in a semi dirty glass… The little pool was out of commission for three days they were there. Due to lots of rain now mosquitoes were fierce.
Location was great, and the room was just as advertised, very tropical. Loungers on the waterfront were a great place to watch the sunset. I enjoyed the extra rickety boardwalk to Westend, but it was pretty sketchy.

United StatesThe bed was a little too firm.
The property is perfectly situated in a quiet spot minutes from a busy beach. The property has a small beach with swimming area that is very quiet. Geraldine at the dive shop was fantastic. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. The property is well maintained and there is security on site. The resultant is situated with a deck overlooking the ocean. We liked everything we ate at the restaurant. The Papuans were my favorite. The happy hour has great drink specials. The monkey lala is a must try cocktail.

United StatesThere were few vegetarian food options on the menu, and the service was slow. The Wi-Fi didn't work consistently in the restaurant. The small swimming pool appears larger in the photo on Booking.com--in reality, it is a jacuzzi-sized dipping pool.
The beach location and on-site dive shop were ideal. The dive shop staff was very helpful--both my son and I took dive courses during our stay and received our certifications. The food servers were also pleasant.

United StatesI booked an air and resort package through booking.com for 3 people. But when i checked in they said I only had a reservation for two people. So i had to pay and additional fee per night for the third person in my room, that I technically paid for on the booking site.
Located on a private beach with dive shop, restaurant and bar on site. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It’s very easy to meet new people and make life long friends. The dive shop staff were particularly outstanding. The private beach was quiet and clean, unlike the other beaches in the area.

United StatesWhen we arrived there wasn't someone waiting for us at the airport as expected. A friendly driver for another resort asked us if we needed help and made a call for us. He then rounded up a taxi driver and assured us the resort would cover it. And they did. The bed in the room was very squeaky. Every movement made noise. The fridge was filled with costly items, and there was a fee to have them empty it for personal use. We attempted to get change for tipping the staff since the ATM gave out larger bills and found it to be nearly impossible to do. That was frustrating.
We loved the location. We could easily walk to everywhere in West Bay. The water taxi stopped at the Las Rocas dock to easily get to West End. We loved having the dive center on site. It was great to eat breakfast & walk next door to get ready to dive. The dive masters were great. We took a refresher course, and then did several dives during the week. The food at the resort restaurant was wonderful. The hot part of breakfast was different every day. And there was always fruit, breads, coffee, tea, and juices. Lunch & dinner were delicious as well. Over the course of the week we had veggie burrito, chicken fingers, fries, salad, lobster tails, lemon snapper filet, and more. The restaurant staff were super friendly, especially Winston. The office staff & security were friendly as well. We always felt sage. Our shower head broke during our stay, but they fixed it right away. There was a small pool & small private beach that were perfect for cooling off. They drove us to the airport for our departure.

United StatesWell, we had construction noise from sunrise to sundown from a large luxury condo being built across the road for gringos. Hope it doesn't strangle Las Rocas.
After dozens of Hilton-Marriott-type experiences, we wanted a more rustic (but clean) place that would capture the local spirit of Roatan. Las Rocas furnished that very well. Quiet location at the end of West Bay beach, but walkable to the noisy part. Lovely sunset views from the waterfront restaurant & bar. Ample (included) breakfast. Dinners served on picnic tables, but so tasty that we never went elsewhere. Bonus: free rides to an from the airport. We hope to go again next year and (very rare for us) repeat the whole thing. The Four Seasons can wait.

United StatesNothing we didn’t like. King beds would have been nicer than Queen. But may not be able to fit into the room dimensions.
Garden like atmosphere, lots of shade, and a great dive-snorkel shop on-site. Wonderful little restaurant on-site also. Next door to a mile long white sand beach. Dive shop has all the amenities and the 2 dive instructors are passionate about their work. Our snorkel experiences felt safer w the smaller boat having boat captain Elton who kept a look-out for us not to get lost or needing any rescue help. Felt extra safe snorkeling with someone watching us. Property Wifi was good, breakfast was simple but quite adequate. Very well-prepared dinners served right at our on-site restaurant. We loved it
