Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandZoran is the best host I've ever met, very helpful, informative, always quick to respond to contact. Zoran welcomed us with a short tour of Diocletian's Palace, telling us about it and about the history of Split. Apartment is in a beautiful place, in the heart of the Diocletian's Palace, with a unique bedroom in which is a piece of the wall of the Jupiter Temple. In the apartment there is practically everything you need to make the stay comfortable, even a cell phone with a local number. Everything is well decorated and to a high standard. I definitely recommend it

CanadaNothing really but a small suggestion is to add an extra pillow for each bed
Our host Zoran was exceptional; he even took our luggage to the boat and made enquiries for us. When we arrived he carried our luggage upstairs too (3 flights). The apartment is finished to a very high standard and had the most unusual feature of part of a Roman wall in the bedroom.

AustraliaLovely apartment, right in the heart of the old town. Very modern and clean with a bit of history in the room for you. Owner of the apartment was super helpful and friendly. Gave us a walk around of the palace in his own time and pointed out some things to make sure to go and see. Room was quiet considering how close it was to everything as well. Great place to stay, would recommend.

Location, right in the middle of the Roman palace. Accommodations were fairly recently updated and clean. AC worked great. Owner met us and assisted with luggage and parking.

One is part of ancient history; sleeping in a medieval appartment including a roof of a 3rd century Roman temple. Once in a lifetime experience! Zoran is very proud of Split and its history and gave us a complementary city tour. he was available throughout the trip for advice.

Zoran was very welcoming. He communicated with us before our stay and gave us lots of helpful information. The apartment is in a fantastic location - the views from the bedroom windows were amazing. We loved being right in the centre of the old city. The stairs are steep but they helped me work off all the extra calories from the fantastic food the city offers! The apartment had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean.

United KingdomNothing- it was faultless
This is a really amazing property and one of the best places we have stayed. The apartment is in the most amazing location, and actually has part of the Jupiter temple in the room! You are right in the middle of the old part of town and all the restaurants and sites etc. Very close to the bus station and the ferry port. The apartment was immaculately clean. Every detail has clearly been really thought about as there were numerous towels, a hair dryer, a phone for booking restaurants, water in the fridge and even a British converter plug. WiFi fast and reliable. Bed comfy comfy, great air conditioning and not at all noisy considering it’s right in the middle of everything. Zoran the owner met us from the bus station with his helper Bruno(?) and showed us to the apartment. He then gave us a really great walking tour of the old city which was really interesting and informative and really helped us get to know the place. He also sent us some great recommendations on things to do. Highly recommend to anyone - I Shal be telling all my family and friends to book when they visit Split.

United KingdomNothing particular indeed
It was so exciting to stay at this fantastic historical accommodation. The room itself was the extension of the enchanting story of beautiful old town in Split! Zoran was so kind to pick us up at the port for check-in and told all the background of the charm of the town and the room. Location is super convenient...it is exactly centre of the old town. Facilities are all super modern in the historical building. Highly recommend!

NetherlandsVery modern apartment with everything that you could wish for. Even though it looks small, it is big enough with lots of day light coming into the bedroom, making it lovely to wake up or just relax there. Windows are very well isolated with shutters on the outside that can be closed to make the room dark. The bathroom is very beautifully designed and the shower pressure is perfect! Just aim it to the right corner and not to the bathroom door as water can get through it a little bit. There are lots of towels both in the bedroom and bathroom and enough toilet paper, water bottles, etc. The interior is also well thought about and it is amazing to see the corner of the Jupiter temple in the bedroom. It is great to have a tv in the living room and one in the bedroom, but if you want to watch your own movie I'd recommend bringing it on a usb stick as its not a smart tv. However, I don't think you will have time to watch movies as there is so much beauty and real-life history to see in Old Town and in the evening there are many restaurants or hot spots along the promenade to hang out and chill :-). Zoran is also a great host and we wish him and his family the best! Thanks Zoran, for helping me out on the departure day - waiting with me and my luggage until the pickup car arrived. Accommodation is a bit pricy during high season, but for us it was worth it and we highly recommend it. It is indeed not suitable for people with a bad knee for example as there are many stairs to walk. However, Zoran and his friend Bruno do carry all luggage for you, perhaps that might help lots of people. Hopefully this review will help you make a good choice, but to be honest, this is a hidden gem that I would not doubt book again.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike about this apartment, however it would not be suitable for someone with walking difficulties as there are quite steep stairs to climb to access it.
It is perfectly situated for exploring Split and the ancient walled city. It is clean and kept immaculate by its owner who is very knowledgeable and friendly.

United States of AmericaEverything was perfect. I have no complaints nor criticisms.
What an exceptional stay we had at Roman Heritage. The apartment was immaculately clean, had the most stunning view and was well appointed. Everything was modern and in perfect working condition. The owner arranged for pick up for us from the ferry terminal and even took us on a walking tour of Split. Such amazing hospitality! The apartment provided a local cell phone for us to make restaurant bookings, reconfirm flight arrangements, etc. When I asked for restaurant recommendations and touristic sites, the owner messaged me thorough information and even took the time to suggest some sites to visit outside of the city. It was the most amazing experience. We would recommend this place to everyone and hope to stay again soon. Split is a beautiful city with vibrant energy, exceptionally nice people, delicious food and tons to see and do close by. We booked for three nights but had wished we stayed for a full week. For tourists requiring COVID testing for their flights, there is a clinic within 20 minutes walking distance from the apartment; no appointment needed and results in 45 minutes. We needed a test for our return flight to the United States. The apartment is centrally located right in the heart of Diocletian's Palace with countless restaurants, bars, etc directly outside the front door. The AC worked perfectly and the apartment was kept at a very comfortable temperature; it is well insulated. Do not hesitate in booking this place now!
