Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomVery minor point....the bar oppisite has live music most nights (solo performers...piano, violin etc). Might be one to bear in mind if you have very young children.
Super location. Right in the centre of the old town. Very near restaurants, shops, beach, historical sites, bus, taxi, ferry etc. Perfect for a holiday base in Split.

United KingdomThe apartment is above several bars and restaurants which were very noisy at night. Also, lots of noise from occupants of other apartments within the building. If you value your sleep, this is not the place for you.
Excellent, comfortable apartment right in the heart of the Old Town. Very helpful host who greeted us on arrival and made recommendations of places to eat, visit, etc. Rooms were well furnished, clean and had everything we required. Perfect for sightseeing as everything was within walking distance. Highly recommend and would definitely use again.

Unfortunately communication was thru email or WhatsApp which caused a significant delay in getting in to the apartment. And … while the address was “obvious” for the owners… it was not obvious to us to too Google Maps. We followed the GPS instructions and ended up on the road that was clearly labeled… but the apartment was at the back of the block - down an alley and around back. Once we got there, yes the number on the unit was “obvious” but getting there was not. SO, it would have been helpful to have had a video posted that showed the alley OR information letting the renter know that the doorway was directly across from the restaurant. Having a lock bock with the key and a key code to get into the lock box would have made this also an easier transition to get the keys. Finally, I thought I had paid through bookings.com… but I had not. The email detailing all of this arrive AFTER I had left the place and was out enjoying my day. I then had to interrupt what I was doing to go to an ATM and get cash to pay. This should all be listed on the description of the web so everyone is on the same page from the get go. Otherwise, except for hauling heavy luggage up stairs which is standard for Europe… the place was great and the hosts couldn’t have been nicer.
