Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe did not find any issues or fault during our stay.
Marija, the host exceeded our expectations on arrival and throughout. We arrived on a bank Holiday when all the shops were closed and she had provided bread, cheese, ham cake, eggs, water, juice, beer and wine for us. Throughout our stay she unintrosively checked all was okay and offered to hold our bags after checkout as we had a flight later in the evening. 100% pleased.

SwedenThe electric kettle wasn’t working perfectly, but the stove heated water quickly enough.
Marija had prepared plenty of drinks in the fridge, which the kids absolutely loved. Although we arrived a bit late, Marija warmly welcomed us and patiently introduced the place. The house is not far from the port and bus station, and it’s close to all the main attractions. The path to the house is uphill, which can be a bit tiring when pushing large suitcases. However, our 8-year-old child managed to push our 23kg suitcase all the way—so it’s definitely manageable. Lidl is very close by, and there are also shops along the way to the attractions. There’s a drying rack, which is great for hanging laundry. The interior of the house isn’t brand new, but it’s well-equipped with everything we needed. Perfect size for 4 people—just right for our family.

United KingdomNoise from the people and vehicles in the streets. But I think this is the case for all the accommodation in such a central area of Split. Also, this is not what I did'nt like--just a tip for future guests: some electrical equipment may not work staight away, in which case, just try a different socket.
The owner Marija's hospitality. I don't know how she keeps her spirit of hospitality going for every guest. She has stocked some drinks in the fridge, ground coffee beans, tea bags, sugar etc. There are a filter coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave, toaster, pans and kitchenware. So, I did not have to eat out for every meal and could relax well. There is an air con. The shower was good. The location is convenient, deceptively close to the Old Town centre with small food shops nearby or supermarkets are not far away.

United KingdomLinguistic barriers meant I couldn’t understand what the owner wanted to show us totally but we got by and she was so very welcoming.
A short walk from the city centre but also fantastically based close to the beaches and a lovely bakery. Very quiet escape in the city. It was also lovely that she had put drinks in the fridge which was a welcomed treat. Available kettle, coffee, percolator, stove, washing machine. Everything needed.

AustriaI would rate this apartment 10 except for one thing. The hot water in the shower was very difficult to control, temperature would change from cold to hot or hot to cold randomly, without adjusting the mixer. This is a nuisance at best, but dangerous at worst, particularly for young children showering independently. Offsetting this, there is a second shower in the apartment, which we didn't use - maybe the water temperature control was better in this shower.
This is a compact but very well appointed apartment in an excellent location in the old town of Split. Two showers and toilets is remarkable in such a small apartment, making it ideal for up to 4 adults travelling together. The hostess made us feel super welcome and the fridge was stocked with a variety of drinks for our enjoyment. The host doesn't speak English (her husband does but we didn't meet him), but fluent German so we got by. Beds were very comfortable with good bed linen and towels. Air conditioning and fans were effective to keep the rooms cool.

United StatesA few Mosquito bites from sitting out on patio. (not host's fault).
Great quiet location, in historic neighborhood. Easy walk to town, ferry port and parks. Host was very kind and helpful. Cold beverages in the refrigerator, compliments of the host were much appreciated. Clean rooms with good hot showers. Nice outdoor areas for relaxing with a glass of wine. Host helped to arrange taxi to airport at 4am in the morning, and woke to see us off.

ChileThe host told us that we left a real mess in the house which ir wasn’t true. She told us that they were going to report us with the police when the only “damage” we made was a broken glass by accident, which it was put in the trash inmmediately.
The house in general was very nice

AustraliaThe room was decorated with too much stuff and the kitchen lights were like a disco.
Great location in the old part of the city, reasonably easy to find with google maps. Host provided lots of goodies for our stay which was very welcome. Wine, juice, water-still and sparkling, teas and coffee sachets, condiments. A good kitchenette to self cater and fast wifi. Washing machine and airier to dry our clothes.

IrelandThe accommodation was perfect for our family overnight stay in Split. Our flight was delayed but we were met on arrival after midnight with no problem. The apartment was spotlessly clean, quiet and beds very comfortable. Very convenient for walking into split old town. The host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a one night stay. We would highly recommend a stay here.

United KingdomThe climb up from the old town center is up a narrow alleys and a sloped area so you will need walk uphill to reach the flat. If you are driving you will find it difficult to find a spot to park. I would not recommend if you find slopes problematic.
Apartment was decently sized, had a little kitchenette area as well as a washing machine. All items you would need was provided and hostess lady was very friendly. There was also an outside yard/garden area that you can relax with a drink. When we arrived the flat was very clean and we were walking distance to old town and local shops.

FranceI was a bit cold for one night since the weather did not cooperate and the apartment is heated on demand.
Marja is a wonderful hostess who sees to everything very thoroughly and very kindly. She had a basket of fruit ready, a refrigerator with varied drinks and the bath products were provided. The apartment is a separate unit that allows complete privacy and it is located in the most interesting part of the city. Using a taxi to first get there is a must though since the streets are small and pedestrian only. But after one gets situated it is a very pleasant short walk to everything from the historical quarters to the splendid Marjan park and the beaches.

GermanyUpon arrival we were greeted by our lovely hostess, who gave us a tour of our apartment and showed us the amenities including a fridge she had stocked for us with a variety of drinks. The location is amazing, within 5 minutes we were in the heart of the old town and in under 10 minutes at Lidl. Our hostess would check in with us and always offered advice which we appreciated a lot. We couldn’t have wished for a better hostess!! Uber is also very affordable here, we would pay €4 for an uber to Kasuni beach, which saved us the 50 minute walk! We did however generally walk everywhere, as the location is simply perfect.

United StatesParking is very difficult in this area - even the paid lot was completely full so we had to circle the street a few times to find a spot. I noticed there was only body wash when we arrived. Marija might have some shampoo/conditioner but we had our own so we didn't check.
Fantastic location! It's within a few minutes of Old Town so it's very convenient. Marija doesn't speak English but she is very friendly nontheless. She let us use her terrace and was very welcoming. I reached out via Whatsapp to coordinate check-in/out. Overall, it's a very spacious and comfortable place.
