How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLovely boutique hotel. Quiet location but perfect for us ! Located in a small beach and rhey have a beach club where you can get cabanas and sun loungers Great hotel facilities including a small spa , gym pool and sauna. Lovely restaurant . Bedroom very spacious -coffee machine provided .. and bed very comfy/lovely bathroom and shower very powerful. There are two beach bars next to hotel serving snacks /lunch as alternative during daytime and the nearest village(Mimice) is 15 min walk away . You have to walk on main road but traffic is minimal and Mimicie had couple nice restaurants and was worth the walk. Supermarket also around 10 min walk away .
Nothing! However do note you have to pay for the sun loungers and they only give u free bottle of water in your room on your first night which is a bit strange considering the room rate

Manager was very annoyed when we complained about the smell in our room. Swore at us saying we had a bad attitude. Made our stay there extremely uncomfortable as he was visible every day drinking at the bar.

The air conditioner blows directly on your head when you’re lying in bed.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Hotel Medistone in the summer of 2024. It was just after the opening and we were very satisfied. We liked it so much that we came back in the summer of 2025 — and it was even better. The team is now even more professional, while remaining wonderfully discreet. Everything was spotless — the housekeeping staff are truly excellent. Everyone at the reception is simply delightful, helpful, and always ready to assist. P.S. A huge thank you once again for finding my wedding ring and sending it back to me — that really was amazing! Thank you so much :)

The private parking on the top of the building is extremely narrow. There is only one elevator in the building. This is not enough with such a function. So we usually used the stairs... Basically, we had a problem with the price-value ratio. The hotel is not cheap. That in itself is not a problem. But if you need a sunbed on the baach, you have to pay extra. We had to pay the tourism tax when we left. We realized afterwards that it was included in the offer and we had already paid it in advance! This is not a good memory of the hotel...

Verified reviewThe beach right in front of the hotel is great. The beach chairs (at an affordable price) are also great, and the free parking is a big plus, as there are no easily accessible public spaces nearby.
Breakfast could have more fruit, bread, and yogurt options. And the restaurant's lunch and dinner menus could be more varied, with meat options. Improving the restaurant would make the stay perfect. I also suggest beach service; we missed that.

We had to wait a lot at the restaurant, the waiters often came only, when we asked them to. The matress in our bed wasn't comfortable, worn out, with a "hole" in it. I think that when I had to pay for the sunbeds extra, the beach staff has to be there to help me for example with the umbrellas. They barely were there, we had to go and find them. Last year the sunbeds were included, now the service didn't change, but you have to pay for it.

Verified reviewEverything was great! The breakfast was delicious. The rooms are spacious, and the view from them is incredible. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
The location – there’s nowhere to go for an evening walk, no promenade within walking distance. Similarly, the main road in front of the hotel has no sidewalk, which makes a morning run impossible, not to mention a walk with a child and stroller.

We do, however, regret that your overall impression of our hotel seems to have been influenced primarily by the location. Our setting — away from the crowds and city noise — is something that many of our guests specifically seek out when booking their stay with us. This information is clearly presented in advance, and is part of what defines our property’s appeal. We would also like to gently mention that you were kindly upgraded to a higher room category during your stay, in the hope of making your time with us even more enjoyable. With all this in mind, we find it a bit difficult to reconcile the lower evaluation of our hotel based on a location that was visible and transparent prior to booking.
