How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt’s a lovely boutique hotel nestled in a quiet bay with clear pristine waters. We loved the day beds scattered all around the bay and the clearest waters we have ever seen. Lots of little fish swimming around as you float around in the water.
No complaints at all. But note that a walk to town is 20 minutes or will cost €20 per trip.

Verified reviewThe location is just perfect with a short walk to get to town. The exterior is stunning and there is nothing better than the view from the hotel.
The breakfast is just bad. The staff (apart from the one in the restaurant) is very cold (which seems to be something a lot of Croatian are - hospitality works very differently there). The rooms would really need some refurbishment and the bathrooms are just not up to standard (the shower was not locked in for us…). Another very annoying aspect was house keeping shouting at your door at 8:30 in the morning - just not possible to have a quiet morning if you want one. Not a 4 stars experience, 3 stars at best.

The pool could have been cleaner. The meals, especially lunch menu could have had a few more inclusively priced options. This would have encouraged us to use the hotel for lunch.

Verified reviewLovely quiet location a pleasant 20-25 min walk from centre of town, which we happily did daily. The closer to town one is, the more vibey it is and so we appreciated being just outside the action for a sense of relaxation. The private sun lounger area on the waterfront is a rare bonus for Hvar, and the excellent service to the loungers with good food and drink make it even better (albeit the loungers and cousins themselves, while comfortable are rather old). We stayed in a premium exclusive room on the third floor which had a fabulous terrace and panoramic sea view. The hotel benefits from its own small pier, which is super handy if you’re going out and about on a boat when there, or for water taxis. The gym is small but functional, spa area a little dated but we had a good massage while there at a reasonable rate.
The hotel is quite dated and in need of some maintenance externally and aesthetic enhancement generally (reception has had a tart up and some tweaks look to have been made to the rooms, but it still feels rather faded overall and the 70s/80s base design is still prevalent which makes the 4 star rating feel rather ambitious). No coffee in rooms, and woefully inadequate plug provision (minor things but actually quite irritating). Breakfast is not amazing but ok - personal preference for me would be to have better quality selection of yoghurt. The dining area itself (internally) is very drab - consequently we never dined at the hotel in the evening, albeit the terrace area is pretty.

Very small issues and didnt really change the experience, but easy to improve. Had a constant issue with refilling toilet paper - had to ask everytime. Towels were replaced despite the instruction to not change by leaving them hung up as per the notice in the bathroom. Didn't understand why the drinking water bottle in the room was only given once and refilled daily. Apparently after the first bottle (filtered tapwater) the guest has to then pay for water from the mini bar. Would be nice to have coffee in the room along with the great tea selection.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is magnificent. Great view on a "boat highway", close to the sea and out of the city center. Peace and quiet. The city center is a 20min walk by the sea. Next to the hotel is a diving "padi" club. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. As well as the reception as the cleaning team as the bar staff. All drinks and food were served on your "lazy chair". Lunch and diner in the hotel were also very good. Fresh fish and vegetables very tasty with a great view. Breakfast was ok. A fresh orange juice would make it perfect. A little paradise close to Hvar.
The prices of the massages were a bit too high, otherwise we would have certainly booked a duo massage.

Verified reviewThe waterfront was great and there is plenty of sunbeds to use. Having direct private water access is why we picked the place and that did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was decent.
It felt like a budget hotel instead of an 4 star hotel. It was one of those stays where you feel a little bit ripped off at the end. The hotel was very stingy and missed so many things a normal 4 star hotel should offer. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very basic and tired and in need of a renovation. 1 bottle of complementary water on arrival, no refill throughout our stay. No coffee, sugar or milk/creamer in the room, just a few teabags. Beds ok, but pillows were terrible. I didn't provide beach umbrellas, and there is little reprieve from the strong sun during the day and into the afternoon. Not much choice for food in the hotel, which is a bit annoying as town is quite a distance (20 mins walk) if you can't be bothered walking (or spending 20 EUR (4ppl) to 30 EUR (5 + ppl) on a taxi). There is only one restaurant where the menu changes slightly between lunch and dinner without many options. Lastly, this hotel needs to offer transfers especially with its proximity to town. Just a bit to far to walk with suitcases and so expensive to get a taxi for the 10 minute drive (no Ubers and taxi drivers have fixed the rates, so you can't find cheaper) Wouldn't stay here again.
