How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was horrible, no sound isolation they start to clean rooms at 6:30 we can hear every guest how is leaving from the hotel no respect for other guest who come to rest and enjoy

However, we can assure you that our cleaning staff does not start cleaning the rooms before 10:00 a.m. You could have messaged us immediately at any time, and we would have stopped the disturbance caused by other guests. Unfortunately we are sorryto say, but your loud and aggressive complaints during check-out also disturbed and frightened other guests, which was unacceptable on your part. Verified reviewEverything was perfect! Room was fresh and modern. Receptionist is a credit to this hotel so friendly and welcoming and very accommodating with luggage and checking in! Restaurant downstairs was convenient and again friendly staff. Location easily accessible to split town by bus and good shops nearby right on beach!! Can’t go wrong and will definitely be looking to book this hotel again on return to Croatia

Verified reviewThe property is located very close to Split airport (20 mins taxi ride), so you will be starting your holiday very soon after you land. It is located in Podstrana, a quiet suburb area of Split, this is one of the areas with the best beaches around Split. I was recommended this area by people born in Split and they were not wrong. The property is located on the beach. Not 5 mins walk from the beach, literally on the beach. You come downstairs, go through the cafe which is part of the hotel and you are on a lovely beach with tiny clean white pebbles. As soon as you get into the sea, the sea floor is sand, no rocks, see urchins, jelly fish, just crystal clear waters. The property also offers free sun loungers and this is a considerable saving in Croatia where loungers can cost 20 euros per day. Property: clean, modern, rooms newly decorated. Hosts: contactable at all times, provided great recommendations for eating and going out. Also very professional and respectful. Area: there are about 10-15 restos in the immediate vicinity and a small marina near the Le Meridien hotel. For more nightlife, go to gorgeous Split which is a 15 min bus or Uber ride (Uber c 12 euros, depending on time, bus 2.5 euros in front of property). We had an amazing time and will be back.

There wasn’t someone at the front desk at all times during business hours. There was a phone number but not all foreign travellers have phones

The road leading to and from Podstrana can get very congested.

Unfortunately there was a a regularly participant mechanical noise during the night which disturbed sleeping. Also we would have needed a dryer on the terrace for wet bathing suits, also a room cleaning for those staying at the hotel for at least a week.

Hello Annabi, thank you for your review and we are happy that you liked the breakfast. We are a 3 star hotel and environmentally conscious, which means we change the bed linen and towels every 3 days. We come to make the beds, take out the rubbish, and do a little cleaning if the "cleaning sign" is pressed before 12:00. If, as in your case, the "do not disturb sign" is pressed, we do not go into the room. It is also not a problem to get fresh bed linen or towels every day, you can order these at the reception for a small additional charge. Nevertheless we hope you enjoyed your stay with us.
