How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

That people did not respect the rules about noise.
It was really clean, and there were all the necessary amenities. The location was amazing.

There was no one at reception at 7:30am when we were leaving to get our deposit back on our lock. Also the common area was locked in the morning which was not stated to us on arrival and we had food left in the kitchen there.
The location was perfect and it was very clean.

Not many bathrooms for the number of guests, though I never had an issue with the availability during my stay. Can be a little noisy at night.
Perfect location for the ferry port and Hvar town. Also near to the bus stop for exploring other parts of Hvar. Lockers available in dorm rooms and luggage can be stored after checkout but this is just in a shared area and is not secure.

Our bathroom was sometimes flooded but that happens, so no problem really. ☺️ Also, you have to get up some stairs to get into the hostel which can be challenging if you have big luggage - but the staff helped me to carry my suitcase - so kind!!! 🙏
Really liked this hostel. It's right in the center of Hvar, only a short walk from the ferry stop and surrounded by shops, restaurants and beautiful little alleyways. The staff were very friendly, our room was super spacious and clean, comfy beds.. There was a little kitchen that we could use, and they also gave us bracelets to receive discounts at different local restaurants.

Doors don't lock automatically and there's so many people in the room that you can't all agree to lock it so had to make peace that the room was mostly unlocked, no issues with stealing however.
Great location, easy access to everything. Great activities on offer. Lovely reception staff and aussie girl arranging fun activities for people to join. Very social and fun.

The ONLY thing I could say I disliked was how much noise the bed makes (was very squeaky) but with ear plugs in you couldn’t hear it.
Everything! One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The workers/volunteers are very helpful and so nice. In fact I loved this hostel that much that I’ve been here twice already this year and will definitely be back next year

No curtains on the beds but I was prepared for this
One of the friendliest and most social hostels I stayed at in Croatia! Great vibe (without being a party hostel) and the staff are super friendly and will chat to you. Social events every day or almost every day that you can join in. Kitchen is very functional for making simple meals with plenty of fridge space to store food. Hostel guests also have discounts with some nearby cafes/restaurants. Pretty decent showers with water pressure and enough that I never had to wait

The hostel itself is a lovely building, great location with very clean rooms. Comfortable beds (for a hostel). Also, very friendly staff. I lost a very important piece of jewellery and they sent it back to me same day via the cataraman

The bunk beds have drawers on the floor where you can store your items. You can get a lock if you want it secure.
The atmosphere was just the best. Everyone was just lovely. Every day, we had activities like sunset watching, boat riding, beach day, etc, where the people staying in the hostel could join, and other hostels were also invited. I made many friends here, and it was truly the best hostel experience I've had. The room was nice, the beds were sturdy and comfy, and the bathroom, although small, was just enough. The location was great, and the kitchen was also amazing.

We stayed at The White Rabbit Hostel and had an amazing experience. Not only is the location perfect—just a short walk from the port and the center of Hvar—but what truly made it special was the incredible team. A huge thank you to Mel, Paloma, Sabri, Martina, Leo, and Mia for making us feel at home from the very beginning. They were always kind, helpful, and full of good energy. Their warmth and friendliness made our stay unforgettable. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and cool, and the common areas have a cozy, welcoming vibe. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy everything Hvar has to offer. We would definitely come back. Thank you for everything, White Rabbit team! 💜

The staff was really nice and friendly especially Charlotte, the girl from the UK who had just started working there the day I arrived. There were some really cool people from across the globe. Hostel whatsapp group was really helpful.

It’s really a minor thing but personally prefer dorm beds with curtains, which I was missing here
Amazing hostel and great atmosphere. Perfectly located right in the heart of the town and a quick walk from the ferry. Staff are really lovely and helpful. On arrival you can join the WhatsApp group where they are posting about socials organised by the hostel and you can connect with other travellers.

Very nice and clean hostel. There are two well-equipped kitchens and plenty of toilets and showers, which made everything super convenient. The staff is friendly, especially Sanja—she was great! I really enjoyed the activities; Leo is the best!
