How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewAll was great, comfortable, clean, very good breakfast and very pleasant staff.
It’s a 15 min walking distance from the historic center of split. Nevertheless, that’s not so bad, and I recomend you still take the walk, because traffic in split is mad and you will take longer by car.

Verified reviewThe hotel staff were friendly and helpful and provided lots of local information. Breakfast was ok however you need to get down early to get hot food as the heaters do not keep eggs, bacon etc hot! There was a good choice of food but couldn't recommend the orange juice as not fresh. Also had lunch at hotel, which was good and really well presented. The bed was comfortable and bathroom had a good powerful shower. We chose this hotel as had free parking and could easily walk to the centre of Split in 10 minutes. Coming back was uphill so took a bit longer :-)
Parts of the hotel, in spa area are tired and there is obvious signs of long-term water damage which lets the area down. As located just outside of Split, did feel that the hotel was located in a car park as very little grounds to the hotel. My only complaint to the staff on reception was in relation to the bedside lights. They hand down over the bedside tables and get very hot to the point that if you accidently touch them, you are left with a burn! Unfortunately, I did burn myself and reported to reception, but nothing further was said and they did not do anything about it although did acknowledge that it was a safety risk. I would not be happy about this if I had young children coming in to the room and was disappointed that the problem was not addressed immediately. The hotel was not good value for money.

Verified reviewLocation was convenient for short 15 min walk to old town and uber was under 10€ for ride back up. Staff was very nice and hotel itself was clean.
Spa facilities in lowest level were very very disappointing. Hot tub was cold and had huge ring of filth around top, sauna doors did not seal so steam did not build up properly. In one sauna the rubber seal from top of door fell off as door was opened.

Verified reviewTime Boutique was a wonderful base for four days, especially as we had a car and it came with free on-site parking. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the spa facilities were great and very welcome after a day’s sightseeing and the breakfast was substantial and excellent. It’s a short uphill walk from the heart of the Old Town but that was fine for us and we enjoyed the location.

Verified reviewThe peacocks in front of the hotel! That was a pleasant surprise upon arrival. The hotel was well presented. Although we were early, the receptionist took time to provide us with helpful visitor information until the room was ready and we were able to be checked in. The buffet breakfast was varied and tasty with a pleasant environment too. We really enjoyed the spa too and paid for treatments which were heavenly.
We walked to the hotel from the ferry port rather than taking a taxi. Although we knew it would take approx 20 mins we didn't realise it was all uphill and a little tiring because it was the middle of a summer day. In hindsight, we might have taken a taxi there with our bags. But the rest of the time it would not have been necessary because it is a short walk to the city.
