Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThere was no hot water on the morning of our departure. No lift, lots of stairs to climb, especially with heavy baggage.
Very clean room, spectacular views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Accommodation was good if a little dated. Excellent beachfront location. The breakfast selection was good. The beach was not crowded. Quiet location.

Some improvements would be: 1. adding an elevator. 2. there was a smell at night in the balcony, I don't know where it comes from. 3. decorating the room with new furniture. 4. adding a refrigerator in the room
The view from the balcony. The beach. The food. The staff.

United StatesWe paid for dinner one night, which didn't even include water or any kind of beverage, for an incredibly basic buffet for 25 euros each. The room is very dated and a bit cramped. The beach is VERY rocky.
I really liked the free breakfast each day. I liked our balcony space, you could see a bit of the water from the first floor. It was a nice space to get to and from the Old City. There was a bus stop right outside. I also liked the patio of the hotel out by the water. It was a beautiful place to watch the sunset from.

AustraliaSome of the breakfast staff could have been a bit friendlier. The food was a little bit repetitive. The hotel could do with a revamp but it was clean and tidy. I was surprised there were no lifts though - it's not disability-friendly at all. Also, once you book you can't change the dates and I think that's really off-putting especially as so many hotels offer free cancellation. I needed to reduce my stay by one day and could have given a few months' notice so I thought it unfair that the hotel doesn't offer a refund.
I chose the hotel for its private beach and I'm really glad I did. We used it a lot and loved the convenience of it. Also, the bus stopped right outside the hotel and goes straight to Dubrovnik old town. There are plenty of restaurants close by with beautiful views. The room was pretty basic, the hotel is old but clean and tidy. Overall though I thought it was good value for money compared to the cost of the other hotels and it seemed to be the only one that had its own beach, which is definitely worth choosing the hotel for.

South KoreaI'm Korean. This is my fifth time in Croatia. This hotel is excellent in many ways. It's especially great if you want to enjoy water activities like swimming. The breakfast and dinner buffets are also excellent. If possible, I recommend staying in a room with a sea view.

PolandHi everyone. We were staying in Hotel Vis. Room including balcony was located on the third floor. Very comfortable room. But main thing in whole Hotel Vis was staff/service. I want to say big thank you for Vesna Tadic - Front Office Manager. The right person on right position which means for us: perfect service, very helpful and very friendly person, no problems at all. Very professional behaviour. Reception: Just amazing service on reception every time from incredible nice guy Matey/Matej. We did not have to ask about anything. He was such a friendly and helpful with everything (perfect service). And I just want to say few words about nice, quiet lady Slavica (cleaning lady). Slavica is the best cleaning Lady ever!!! This lady is just like sunshine in the morning. Every time when we were leaving room to go for breakfast she couldn't wait to clean our room. The room was perfectly clean in 100% everyday. But also Slavica gave us every day big smile on her face, and that small thing made our day happy. Thanks for that all of you guys. And remeber: the place, weather, food are very important when you are on holiday, but people like Vesna Tadic, Matej, Slavica make you to comeback to the same place again. Thank you. Long live Chorvacka. Greetings from Ireland.

FinlandThe fitted carpet on the staircase and floors needs deep cleaning. Showering was a bit complex, water goes everywhere and it might be dangerous for walking or drying hair. It needs either bigger glass doors or a water squeegee.
All-day long sunny beach, complimentary beach towels at the reception desk and possibility to purchase sun beds and parasols. Quiet area, walking distance from Lapad promenade and Marina. Bus service runs all day from outside the hotel. Receptionists were accommodating and professional. Cleaning staff was friendly and took good care of our room.

NetherlandsThe beach costs additional money if you want sun beds and also the drinks at the dinner costs additional money which was a bit weird. Car parking is really small and would be nice if the tv in a room was hanged up smart one, instead it was an old one placed in front of the mirror.
I would say it is a hidden gem in Dubrovnik. Location is outside of centre but you have a bus station literally at the door, the private hotel beach is really a plus as well and clean as the beaches in Dubrovnik is usually busy and small.
