How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe loved staying in this beautiful villa in a quiet residential area of Budapest but with easy access to city attractions by bus/tram or metro. The house is beautiful, very comfortable, tastefully furnished and decorated. Most amazing breakfast menu cooked to order with fresh fruit and with bread and pastries from the excellent bakery/cafe next door. We were made to feel very welcome from the lovely, helpful staff. Our group had two rooms, a single in a large ground floor room and a large double on the first floor with four poster bed and amazing terrace. The hotel only uses eco friendly soap, lotions etc. There is a lovely garden and parking on site. We tried one of the recommended local restaurants for dinner which was excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Budapest.

Verified reviewI barely ever write reviews but this one needs an exception. I have travelled extensively and stayed in all kinds of accommodations but this has to be easily among the top 3 so far. From the attention to detail, the atmosphere, the stylish and tasteful interior design, the room size and lighting, the wonderful garden, the friendliness of the staff, the breakfast – everything was near perfect. I also really liked the fact, that it felt like a soothing retreat that I would look forward to return to after a busy and exhausting day of sightseeing in the much more crowded and noisy Pest (take the Bus 105 it will bring you downtown and get you back within 15 minutes). The place felt like a second home and I can't wait to get back.
Tiny thing that in the end didn't matter so much to me, but if you are in one of the ground floor rooms (I was in "Paletta") you might hear foot steps from people walking around above you when someone is in the studio apartment on the 1st floor. Other than that it is a very, very quiet place.

Verified reviewEverything was top notch - from the incredibly soft bed sheets to the warm professionalism of the staff. The house itself is both stunning and unique. There is a great swimming pool within a walking distance that I recommend visiting.
I ate too much because the breakfast was so tasty.

Verified reviewThe place is fantastic, next to their restaurant with the wonderful garden. If felt like as we are at home. The cosy kitchen with the dining space was perfect spot for the breakfast that we could choose a-la-carte to be brought from the restaurant. Free private parking space was another benefit The location was also perfect for exploring the city center or the nearby Castle either by walk or bus that was in front of the venue. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in every way. Definitely a place to come back
Even when thinking of what we didn't like I couldn't have think of anything. Even on purpose lack of TV in the room and the venue is afterwards considered as an advantage to rest the mind at least during the stay

Verified reviewThe staff is amazing, I haven't met such nice and hospitable ladies in such a long time. The room is beautiful, the whole place is so beautiful and cozy and welcoming. The breakfast was out of this world, incredible! The garden is nice and peaceful. We had a very nice short stay.
It was a little too cold in the room and we didn't manage to make it warm (21 degrees Celsius might though be ok for the most 😀). There is no door to the bathroom...which we took for a chic cultural thing, but in some cultures it may be awkward...

Verified reviewThe design of the room and of the other facilities. An interesting esthetic experience. Combined with utility. I very much liked the secraitaire. The garden, even if it was a bad weather. Full time access to coffee, tea and other beverages. Very good cookies. Obvious care for the well being of the guest. Very nice personnel.

Verified reviewThe hotel was clean and cozy. But some things are not correct see below. It has a nice Swedish like look inside, smells nice.
You should order the breakfast every day. Iam sorry but I do not want to think about it. Plus the breakfast too expensive for what it was offered. The room was always clean but not shampoo. They said organic soap shampoo but can you really wash your Hair like this, no way! Also very expensive and away from center. You need bus, taxi etc...

We are proud to offer a wide-range breakfast - the best in Budapest in 2023 awarded by Dining Guide Hungary -with a free choice from our full a la carte menu. We think it’s a great opportunity to try something creative and could be personalized for the guests. The breakfast is always included in the room rate so we are a bit surprised about your feedback about the rate of the breakfast. We strive to operate the Gardenhouse in an eco-friendy way that’s the reason why we use a Hungarian manufacture natural cosmetics (like soap, creams etc.) The vibe of the accomodation requires a quite area, although you can reach the city center with public transport in 20 minutes. Our goal is to offer a cozy, relaxed place for visitors who like to enjoy the big city but at the end of the day there will be a place when they can relax, enjoy the garden and the beautiful environment.
