How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe arrived there at 11:00 PM and went to sleep because we were tired after a long journey. At 4:00 AM, some individuals started making noise and knocking on doors. Unfortunately, we were told to leave at 5:00 AM.

Verified reviewThe decor isn’t bad. And the one interaction I had with staff they were nice. The location is great.
Listen to everyone saying it’s hard to get in, I was like “it can’t be that hard” it is haha. Definitely need more and bigger signs and arrows. Our bathroom absolutely stunk, unsure if problem with pipes. The bed is so hard it hurts. And the people next door to us we literally screaming and shouting all night to the point they woke me up and I had to shout ‘shut up or I will ring security’ and it smelt like they were smoking in there room. You could smell it in the corridor. The swimming pool needs maintenance and could be considered unsafe with all the missing tiles and the stairs the wobble getting into the pool. Hopefully these things are worked on as it’s a shame because it has a lot of potential to get more stars.

Verified reviewPretty clean and very modern. Smart bathroom. (Once you can find it) the location is good on a main route only a few minutes walk from the centre of the city.
The toilet smelled like pee all the time - it needs a good bleaching. The shower had a very slow drain, so it would fill with water and spill over onto the floor tiles. There was no balcony as paid-for - there is a very thin juliet balcony on our room, but that's not as advertised. The 'smart' technology for opening the room door is a little frustrating. There are no staff on site and there is no where to leave your bags. So be warned if you arrive early - you are best not to arrive at the property until check-in time, as there's literally no one to talk to, or anywhere to leave anything safely.

Verified reviewI really liked the location — it was convenient and close to everything we needed. The fact that they had a pool was a great bonus, especially on the warmer days. The price was fair for what we got, and the room itself was good, including the bathroom, which was clean and functional. Overall, it had the essentials for a comfortable stay.
The guest bed was awful — it felt like lying on cement. The bed linen didn’t fit properly around the corners, so you’d wake up in the middle of the night all sweaty, lying directly on the leather sofa. Accessing the room required using a phone, which barely worked — only one out of four phones managed to connect, and even then, with a success rate of about 25%. Fortunately, we eventually received plastic key cards. Unfortunately, we experienced two separate incidents where staff — either a cleaner or someone else from the property — entered the room despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign being clearly displayed. This happened while some of us were still asleep, and the others woke up in shock as the door was suddenly opened and then quickly closed again. It was deeply uncomfortable and felt like a serious invasion of privacy. On another occasion, we specifically requested cleaning, but the only thing done was the trash being emptied — nothing else was cleaned or replaced, even though more thorough service was supposed to be included.

Verified reviewLocation is excellent, very central. Room is clean and aircon works very well. Kettle and coffee maker in the room as well as a hairdryer and an Iron and ironing board also has a smart tv for Netflix Youtube etc. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Close to public transport. 10 mins walk to the bus to the airport. Generally quiet from outside noise.
Pool is tiny and not anything like whats in the photos. Room size is adaquate .Shower is a disaster, its in the bath and sprays out onto the bathroom floor (direction not adjustable). But the biggest complaint i have is how complicated finding and checking into the property is. Multiple emails from SWU rooms from the time of booking (16). way too many. You have to download an app and scan your photo ID to check in as there is no reception at the property. If you have no data on your phone when you arrive you are in trouble. You then use your phone as a keycard to access your room. This did eventually work for us but i never really trusted it totally. I think SWU rooms should consider creating a short video describing how to access the property (two different entrances with different access codes) and how to use the app to check in and open the room. This would make everything a lot clearer and would save on multiple emails that might get missed. There is a reception in a nearby property 2 streets away open until 8 pm and we did visit here and get a "proper door keycard" just in case.

Verified reviewI liked that we were very close to the city centre - the location was perfect. The room looks exactly how it's pictured on the website, so we got what we expected.
We had a problem with the shower and sink drain, we took a shower the first day and the water leaked all throughout the bathroom, even flooded the room area. I brought it up to SWU Magazine Rooms and requested that someone take a look at the problem, this was late at night so I expected them to come in the next day. I told them that I will be leaving the hotel at 11 and they can take a look at the problem then. We returned to the hotel at 3pm, and the drain was still blocked, again it flooded the bathroom and room when we went to take a shower. I brought this up again to SWU Magazine Rooms and they said someone had already taken a look at it. As it was still blocked, my partner then tried to have a look at the drain himself, he just took off the drain cover, and turns out the drain was just blocked by a bunch of hair. If someone came to take a look, they would've noticed straight away that there was a bunch of hair under the drain cover, and in my opinion, they would immediately clean it. Therefore, we believe no one actually came to take a look at the problem. The drain was no longer blocked after we discovered it was actually just hair. This is quite gross as it seems like they didn't clean it properly from previous guests.

Check-in system pages of instructions and codes, apps to deal with, booked the two nights seperate checked out on the app which locked us out the room took ages for it to be resolved. No fridge in the room and got a double instead of king-size room, the toilet cistern kept running when flushed. Didn't acknowledge our complaints. Instead, kept putting ♡ on messages when we were clearly distressed and upset, took a lot of time up on our stay. Toiletries big bottles but not even half full, topped up with water. Sadly disappointed but location was fantastic

Verified reviewLocation was fantastic everything was within walking distance to hotel.
Sent pages of details on how to enter the property, various codes, apps to download to gain access to the build, their office is 3min walk away. Took ages talking via booking.com & what’s app before someone came out to help is. Because we booked two nights separately we got kicked out the room the next day on the app couldn’t get back in the room. We wasted a good part of our day chasing them up again to get back in took 4 attempts for them to run back forth with new key card and asking us to do things in the app to fix the issue, waiting on managment to keep trying key cards. Wasted our time, made us late for our cruise on the Friday night cost us additional £ to sort, Saturday we couldn’t access room from 11am -2pm to get our stuff We got the wrong room paid king size and asked to upgrade on second night but they just kept us in a small double room. The first time used the toilet the cistern water kept running wasn’t for stopping, no fridge in the room when I complained they said only studios have fridges this def isn’t and paid for king got a tiny double. My complaints and requests to fix these things were ignored. Toiletries in bathroom in large bottles are half empty and have water in them

App doesn't work, lady was just checking room when we arrived so got in, phone does not work to unlock door and wanted us to go to another street in 38 degree heat and get a key card, that was after 7pm when they answered messages from 2.30pm! So we couldn't go anywhere. Pool rubbish. Room small and stuffy. Room faced a pub so noise until early hours. We were glad to leave at 3 am for airport. Photos make things look better than they really are. Kettle no teabags or coffee just coffee pods with. O instructions and just cold water coming out. Never again.
