“We stayed two nights at Skipper House and enjoyed it very much. The hosts were super nice, Leonard even accompanied us as pur driver throughout 7 days. The homestay is located in a nice area a little uphill from the city center and on walking distance to the very green outer areas of the city. The homestay is at the same time basic and very well taken care of, provides you with decent home cooked food and a comfortable social area.”

“Finally, a real homestay!
We truly felt at home. The place is simple, but clean and perfectly functional. On the first day, they waited for us with dinner even though we arrived late: Magdalena, Hironimus, and their three wonderful daughters welcomed us with great warmth.
The next day, they told us about a traditional dish that had caught our attention, and in the evening they offered to prepare it for us… in fact, we cooked it together!

“I liked the room and it was clean and spacious. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The shower had fantastic water pressure and hot water. A large smart TV. Good wifi. Nice verandah to relax on. Nice gardens. Good breakfast and lovely place to have breakfast on a wide verandah. Staff were very welcoming. It is quite far to walk to main part of town but that’s not a problem if you have a bike or driver. We had dinner at La Cucina Italian restaurant. It was very good. Went by car. I would stay again if visiting Ruteng.”
