How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing but the large number of stairs might be an issue for some people. It is a bit tricky to find but once you know about the second access to the property it is fine.

Verified review11 on Kajeng is an oasis, a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. It is so private, peaceful and relaxing. Each room is a little villa beautifully furnished. We had our own private pool which comes with the premier sunset villla. Breakfast was served on our private terrace each morning and was delicious. The staff made our wedding anniversary so special with rose petals on the bed, sparkling wine on ice and a couples massage. This truly was a magical stay. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this place, but it fell short of expectations. This is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. Although the rooms are stunning with furnishings, there is no restaurant on site, with no easy option of external food deliveries at night if you don’t want to go out. I checked with the hotel prior to arriving that this was an option & was informed it was. In reality they only offered delivery from their sister restaurant bar in town which sells burgers & pizza. Also pool bar is never staffed & no spa on site. It is a tiny hotel with not much ambience. Well over priced for what it is, especially considering other options in the area with private pool rooms. I had 2 bookings & wanted to cancel the second one so I could stay somewhere that was more suited to my requirements but the hotel refused, which was very disappointing as this was a special birthday treat. At $390-$420 AUD per night for a private pool room it is more expensive than most 5 star hotels in the area. I won’t be back, and suggest looking at alternatives for this price range.

Regarding the services on-site, we do provide a delivery menu that offers more than just burgers and pizza, an extensive menu that is available all day and until late night. There are also a plethora of restaurant options that deliver via Gojek and Grab and our staff are always available to assist with ordering and plating when it arrives, just let us know! And being in a central location, there are also many great restaurants within walking distance. For spa services, we are happy to offer in-house treatments to pamper you during your stay. We are also glad we could celebrate your special day with a birthday song from our team—it was our pleasure to make it memorable for you! Ultimately, we are a boutique hotel, and our guests choose us because generally they want a more intimate and personal experience than a big 5* hotel, but we understand this is personal preference. Regrettably, we weren't able to cancel your stay last minute as per our cancellation policy as it is too late to get a replacement booking, this is a policy that is shared by virtually all big hotels too. As a boutique hotel, we pride ourselves in fulfilling any request a guest makes to the best of our abilities, and we are sorry on this occasion that you didn't feel comfortable enough to share your requests with our team, we will take the feedback on board for sure and thank you again for staying with us and giving us this review. The grounds were well kept, the staff continually had mosquito repellent contraptions lit to provide a patio mosquito free and the location was absolutely perfect… only minutes away (walking) from the main road and center Ubud. The staff was absolutely accommodating, genuinely friendly and treated us like family. The breakfast offered was top notch. Always made fresh to order and delicious. We left the property like we were ready to book another visit with 11 on Kajeng on the same day we left. We will be back, sooner than later. I definitely recommend this property to anyone and everyone! We love you 11 on Kajeng
There was nothing we “did not like”! Our only suggestion would be installing solar lights in the darker areas of the stairway. Definitely not a dealbreaker.
