How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Disappointed with the room, smelled musty, water was dripping from the air-conditioner on the floor, room felt old and a bit dingy. Bed not very comfortable and small.
Great facilities, food., staff, pool and spa were, wonderful, location is good, near everything.

We requested a king bed which was subject to availability. On arrival we were informed this is a twin room but they could push the beds together if we want? It was late at night and we felt it was an inconvenience to ask them to do this. We already requested a king bed in advance they could have done this for us prior to our arrival.
Location. Older traditional Bali style and atmosphere. The restaurant had great food and great value. One of the original Hotels before Bali was discovered. Most guests are older returning guests. No young families with noisy kids or young party goers.

Shower pressure not good and it barely worked half the time. Didn’t cater for gluten free, not much choice at breakfast and staff lady I asked about this was quite abrupt and rude.
Great location, quiet but spas, shops, restaurants nearby and only a 5 minute walk to the beach

The room decor is tired, some items in the toilet like towel hangers were broken/ falling and towels very worn. The room cleaning was not great, we had to point out 2 alarming findings on the second day of our stay and only then they cleaned properly. Breakfast is not great if you are used to continental/ american breakfast. Value is good at internacional level but we went to stay in better places in Bali for the same money.
Swimming pool area was lovely. Spa was great and good value. The room was spacious and with place to hang wet clothes. Air conditioning very powerful. Location is great, a 3 block walk to the beach and the same to lively restaurants and bars but it is a relatively quiet area which suited us perfectly. Hotel restaurant lunch and beverages (specially natural juices) service for the pool area were very good.

Everything was ok, no issue

For some unknown reason they won't let me book there due to a past bad experience and I have no idea what that is. They said it's something to do with booking.com

The massage table in the Spa room had a head rest at a very uncomfortable position, and could not be adjusted. I ended up cancelling my head, neck back massage because my neck was in an uncomfortable position.
Location. Buffet breakfast had sufficient choices for a 4 night stay. Pools were clean and cool. Large comfy bed. Great restaurant on site with lovely staff and delicious meals at very reasonable prices.

No hot water
Lovely older traditional styled accommodation. Comfy beds, good AC, great sized pool for the kids, nice gardens, wonderful restaurant with really well priced food, great room service for a lazy night in. In house massage great Also close to the beach and lots of shops.

The room on the ground level we were first assigned was extremely musty and dank. I immediately returned to reception and was given a room on the first floor which was fine.
Great restaurant and brilliant entertainer. Location was good and appreciated the easy change of room when requested.

Hotel driver did not collect me from airport. It took me an extra hour of waiting and organising my own transport last minute. Hotel staff were not apologetic and did not help me with bags up 3 flights of stairs. Customer service was their only downfall

Breakfast finishes at 10am so not ideal if you need a holiday with some sleep ins but would still like the complimentary breakfast.
Great value for money. Two uncrowded pools. Nice staff. A lovely little day spa on the property.

The room wasn’t the best. Was a standard room , as I said it got us by for half the day.. I did notice mould 😣 on lounge chair in room, and room quite dark No aircon at reception. It was SO hot
