How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt is a wonderful place, we enjoyed staying with Anyas friendly and welcoming family. The room is very clean, has comfortable beds, has everthing you need. The food was very good. We also had an interesting trip with Anya to get to know the area: learnt a lot about the ricefields, spices, society, visited the waterfalls and monkey forrest. We even saw some Baby monkeys. It was a perfect stay and we would definetily come back.

Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay at Ariel Bungalow which is situated in a beautiful location among the rice fields and palm trees. It's possible to observe black monkeys from the dining area, but it's well worth spending a few hours on a leisurely hike to visit the monkey forest, waterfalls and rice fields which are conveniently located nearby Anya and his family are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. There really is nothing to dislike!

Verified reviewBeautiful location, and extremely clean bungalow set in the wonderful Tetebatu. We had the best night's sleep there. Extremely peaceful with all the wildlife in the background. There are of course the mosques, but I actually really enjoyed hearing the call to prayer. Anya was really friendly, and welcoming and arranged for a driver to pick us up from Bangsal Harbour which was great, and we also booked a tour with him to walk across to the waterfalls and rice fields, the walk was with his brother, and we were the first to the waterfalls and able to swim, but there was only limited information on the tour. The food cooked by Anya's wife and daughter was fabulous. I think this is a good spot if you are travelling as a couple, or are more than 2 guests. There are 3 bungalows in total.
I think the walking tour could be improved, with a bit more knowledge, so that they can answer questions guests may have, but I appreciated what we did. Also, meeting more of the family would be lovely, to have conversations with, especially the women as well.

Verified reviewThree simple but lovely bungalows on a plot of land with garden, small restaurant, and rice paddy views. The rooms were a a little warm but had all we needed with a mosquito net and fan. Good shower and bathroom. The best part of the stay was the relaxed atmosphere and how helped Anya and his family were with making us feel at home. We did a walking tour with his brother which was a great overview of the area, visiting rice paddies, waterfalls, and the monkey forest to see black monkeys. Highly recommend. We were welcomed with a drink and friendly smile, and the host had some recommendations of what we should do in Tetebatu. We enjoyed spending time in the garden soaking in the views and peaceful atmosphere, especially as we had heavy rain for a whole afternoon. A very cute playful kitten. Walking distance to a few warungs and a scooter rental. Don’t forget to go to the roof in the early morning for views of Rinjani mountain!

Verified reviewWhere to start with how much we enjoyed our stay at Ariel Bungalow? We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. It was definitely a highlight of our time in Lombok. Firstly, the Homestay setting is stunning! You have a view of Rinjani mountains and will eat your meals overlooking rice paddy fields. The family that run this place are also so kind and friendly and make the BEST Indonesian food ever. Everything we ate here was delicious and made with love. We sorely miss the food already. The bungalows are comfortable, clean and have everything you need. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night.
Everything was perfect.

Verified reviewWe only stayed a night and I wish I could have stayed longer. The owner was really friendly and he even helped us organize a tour for a good price. I can only recommend it. The food was amazing too. I miss it. The only thing that is kinda bad is that you can hear the mosque but that is everywhere in Tetebatu, don't forget that you have to consider it. The view was amazing! Coming back one day
thank you so much

The friendlyness and welcoming of our Host and his family is overwhelming, making our stay a sweet memory! The small, remote village of Tete Batu is clean, vibrant with people bussy working in the fields, welcoming tourists. Our Host brought us on a 4 hour unforgettable hike on small, hidden tracks,,traversing ricepaddys and rainforest, home to endiguas black monkeys, finishing with a cool bath below the waterfall. Breakfest delicuas and healhy, local specialitys provided for lunch!

Verified reviewRoom was clean. There was hot water. The food was AMAZING with great portions. They should run a cooking class!! Close/walking distance to beautiful rice fields and Tetebatu waterfall and are happy to do a tour (but you could do it on your own easily too). Nice quiet village. The friendly owner and his family made the place. So genuinely friendly. Definitely recommend!
WiFi was meh (common in Indonesia). Data on phone works better. In that area a rice terrace view from your bungalow would be amazing. This one didn’t quite have it.
thank you very much.
