How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery calm and relaxing location in the ricefields only 10 minutes by foot away from the city center, delicious breakfast and amazing free yoga classes, clean room
The Hotel lies in a car-free zone and the staff is going to pick you up with scooters nearby and unfortunately they don’t always have helmets…

Verified reviewThe accommodation is in a quiet and beautiful location with a clean pool and well-kept rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always willing to assist even carried our luggage up to the property since it’s in a car-free zone. Breakfast is chosen from a menu of about 10 options so there’s something for everyone.
There was a lack of storage space for our belongings in the room and bathroom.

Very noisy, lots of roosters and nearby scooters woke us up early.

Verified reviewI loved the location and the quiet. The rice field walk nearby was beautiful. Very friendly staff and so convenient having breakfast included. The free yoga classes were a bonus too. Air con worked well so had a comfortable sleep without mosquitoes.
The room was a bit dark as had to have curtains closed for privacy but I was hardly there most days so it didn’t really bother me.

Verified reviewIt’s a really peaceful spot. We availed of their free yoga at 7.30am and it was amazing. The pool is also so calm and beautiful. It’s a short walk from the busy centre of Ubud but it’s so quiet and peaceful you’d think you were further away. The breakfasts were so nice each morning and the staff were very helpful. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately they were fully booked.

Verified reviewVery clean. Available good WiFi, good breakfast, good lunch / dinner. Very friendly staff. Amenities available in the bathroom, hair drier present. Room and whole place was newly finished and furnished, it had a feeling of clean and new. Very good price.
Meh. Nothing really outstanding to complain. Car access would have been appreciated instead of limited to scooters or walking. But just 10 min walk and you’re in the busy city center. A little TV would have been useful to give some extra atmosphere.

Verified reviewWhat a pleasure to stay here when in Ubud. There were so many staff members always there to help for anything We needed! The setting was surreal, amongst the Jungle coconut trees and within the Rice field area. It was a 7-10 minute walk from the crazy town centre. If you don’t stay in an area like this you can’t truly get a feel for what it’s all about! We passed some amazing places on our walks. The Sweet Orange Walking Trail is rights beside ‘As I Am’ and we’ve never seen a place like this before. There was Yoga every morning F.O.C for guests but We only made it twice (it’s a relaxing workout). Breakfast was beautiful. The swimming pool was perfect. Rooms were spotlessly clean. You also get a chance to support the locals in their little businesses when staying in these areas. Another thing that surprised us was the very few mosquito bites. Use repellent regularly and you’ll be ok. Our top tips: - Have smaller notes for tipping. Prices are so good for us westerners tipping is greatly appreciated. - Stay in Tranquil areas like ‘As I Am’ - Don’t haggle vendors to the point they aren’t making profit - Eat Indonesian cuisine, especially in the smaller places - If the forecast is for rain, carry an umbrella - learn a few basic Indonesian words - Enjoy massages in the many local Spa’s Terima Kasih to everyone at As I Am. We will 100% be back on our next visit to Bali! ❤️
Nothing…

Verified reviewYou could walk to Ubud and escape back up the hill for peace and tranquility. Yoga at 7.30 each morning, close to a great massage place. Staff were lovely and accommodating
No kettle in room which we missed being able to make a cuppa No TV which normally wouldn’t matter but it was raining and could have been used Access restricted so needed to come and go on motorcycles ( if you didn’t want to walk) and we weren’t insured for that Wouldn’t have been an issue but weather was inclement . We assumed as it was called a retreat their would have been more available options on site and meal options were limited if staying for more than a few days

Verified reviewI totally recommend this place! We had an amazing stay. The hotel is located just a 5–10 minute walk from Ubud city center, which means it is perfectly peaceful while still being conveniently close to everything. We also found the place to be very welcoming and cozy, as it is a small hotel with just a few rooms and the staff is absolutely lovely and always happy to help.

Verified reviewYoga class in the morning and the a la carte breakfast is super good. Bed is comfy, staff super friendly. Location is calm and still within 10 mins by foot you're in the middle of Ubud with many shopping and food options. Surprisingly we didn't see one mosquito.
The rooms I thought would look a little different though. You can't see the rice fields from anywhere in the resort.

Verified reviewThe people are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is freshly made and we can't emphasize enough that the staff is truly amazing.
The location, it is quite a walk up a hill and that makes it very challenging. Also the sheets were not clean and ants were in abundance. We did not expect that when going to the toilet, you can't flush paper after going to the toilet. This all resulted in us booking another hotel. Be also aware that cars can't go to the location so they will pick you up with scooters.

Verified reviewFriendly and nice staff. Great, calm area in the green. Good yoga classes.
The music at the front desk could be a bit less loud. Especially in the morning. Maybe a change of the playlist would work also
