How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewAs a tourist it is never easy to decide which hotel to book in Jakarta, so this was a bit of a gamble. A very good one. The location is simply perfect. Within five minutes on foot, faster than taking a taxi, you reach Lotte Mall where you can find everything from breakfast to dinner. It is the perfect starting point to explore Jakarta further. The hotel itself is much bigger than it appears on Booking, and that turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
The swimming pool is ice cold. The restaurant feels rather cold and impersonal. The staff are friendly and the food is fine, but the atmosphere is not very welcoming. We stayed with four people in two rooms for two nights and had no hot water for both days. We reported this to the staff. The problem was not solved, although they did offer us an upgrade and another room. For us this made little sense, since on the second night we only needed the room to shower before our 23:50 flight. Still, I believe that a hotel of this level should not treat the absence of hot water in multiple rooms as a minor incident. If several rooms are affected, something is technically not working as it should. I expected a partieel refund, because you book a room to 1) sleep en 2) to shower.

Verified reviewClean and pretty quiet room with a view to skyscrapers. I was comfortable working remotely from here. The staff was nice, and the local gym with restaurants is pretty, although the gym needs a bit of renewal. The location is near lots of shopping malls and 20 minutes from the city center by taxi.
The overall room was clean, but the bathroom needed a bit of freshness. The room was pretty dark because of a lack of lightning. It is possible to work from here, but your eyes may get tired. There were also some small ants, especially if you left something sweet on the table.

We stayed for 3 nights. Second night we were there, we couldn’t sleep due to some ignorant & inconsiderate bunch of guests stayed until late, making a lot of noise on the roof top which is just above our room. They were dragging the chairs a lot, one guy kept punching a table for their stupid game, and they kept shouting..😡😡 We couldn’t put up with all the noise, so my hubby had to approach them and asked them to be quiet as the rest of the guests tried to get some sleep. As my hubby walked away , some of them started to laugh at my hubby. They thought it’s funny..😡 We reported to the reception the next morning, they said they would suss it out & discuss it with the management. Hope they do something to prevent that happens again, by at least put the signs out on the roof top to ask the guests to not make excessive noise after 11pm at night. Rather than that it’s a pleasant stay with a little bit of city view from our bedroom window. It would be lovely too if the hotel provides a shower cap for ladies in the bathroom

No Netflix and TV channels are boring. It would be nice if the room had an option to access Netflix or other streaming services, as well as washing machine .

Verified reviewthe bed is so comfortable. the mattress was thick and firm enough to support my weight but soft enough to be comfortable. i love that I have the room is spacious, too and clean. on my first night, the internet was quite slow but when i called the front desk, they immediately replaced my modem and did not experience any issues since. they also have a public pantry on the 6th floor where there's a microwave, stove, mineral water dispenser, some seasonings and some cooking untensils if you feel like cooking.
