Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyBreakfast is good and various but might be encresed with some express food. Only eggs provided. Very expensive. Restaurants in the hotel are almost with european prices. Trasportations too expensive. The hotel is at 8 minutes of car from the airport. With a taxi is 100k rupia with a shared Van provided by the hotel 220k per person and you have to wait other people. Crazy price. Staff not always reactive and polite. At 5 pm the staff required me to pay within 7 pm an activity for the next day at 4:30 pm.

Amazing location with a beautiful view on the sea. Almost all rooms have ocean’s view. The possibility to go to the private island and to snorkel (we saw a lot of fish). Rooms are very quiet. The restaurant offers very good quality food.

IndiaVery convenient for snorkelling trips, hotel arranges for packed breakfast with takeaway coffee for the early morning day trip excursions which was nice. beautiful hotel, nice sea-front restaurant. breakfast was good. service good as well. used Grab for taxi which was very cheap and convenient for going around the island for dinner/lunch etc. The hotel arranges for their own snorkelling and komodo island trip as well with better timing option than the ones we found on booking.com/viator etc. but it was sold out for the day unfortunately. Would recommend booking your tours early on. great hotel overall - will definitely recommend.

Everything! The hotel itself is beautiful, the room on the 10th floor was clean and spacious with a breathtaking taking view of the Labuan Bajo bay! The sunsets from the balcony were also outstanding! Really nice snorkelling around the hotel’s jetty and the trip to private island was super fun! The breakfast was nice with nice variety of food and drinks. The staff is nice and attentive. Honzen restaurant is must go! One thing to mention (but this hasn’t impacted my review) are prices within the resort which are on the higher side (i.e. European’s resorts like). But this is something that I knew before my arrival and I was prepared for that :) I would definitely come back!

VietnamDuring high season, it is best to book the activities offered as soon as you arrive. I left it a bit late and could hardly get any booking...
Ayana is a great and comfortable entry to Labuan Bajo, everything is done properly, from the service, staff's knowledge, to the choices of activities. Stunning backdrop!

United KingdomThe breakfasts were expensive, especially if you don't have much to eat in the morning like my wife. We did not eat there but went into town to have breakfast at a nice cafe. The meals were also expensive but not too unreasonable for a 5 star hotel. Again we went into town to eat when time allowed us to do that.
The hotel and view were lovely. The bathrooms and showers were very nice. The hotel was peaceful as it is away from the town and marina/ferry port which can be noisy.

SingaporeSeafood restaurant was a little overpriced. It’s also quite far from anywhere else but you can GrabFood or GrabMart items in, so not too bad. No free airport transfer.
It’s so beautiful! Really like a little slice of paradise. Facilities were amazing - the bar at the jetty, the pool, gym, restaurants. We enjoyed the complimentary activities like boxing class and morning yoga. So friendly staff as well.

SingaporeThere is no beach at the hotel. A very small rocky beach is offered on a private island spot which can be accessed by boat at fixed hours. The water is very clean.
A great resort offering excellent service and facilities. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views of the sea. Breakfast is an excellent spread. And there are lots of paid and free activities to keep the family engaged and active. Otherwise, just relaxing by the pool is great. Snorkeling and paddle boarding by the pier is great fun.

IndonesiaI joined the morning yoga class. It was very obvious that the instructor was struggling to do the pose himself. Half of the participant left the class before it ends. I felt really bad for him, cause clearly he's not a yoga practitioner let alone an instructor. Later in the day I saw him working as a waiter in the beach bar. I mean, come one Ayana.. get a proper instructor or no yoga class at all. It was a bad experience for both the guest and the poor guy.
Amazing view, the room is really nice. The bar is in a boat, very unique.

MalaysiaWe were on the 3rd floor, facing the pool, so it was noisy during breakfast times in the morning. There wasn't much of a beach, although it was advertised as a beach front - but this appears to be the same for all resorts in Labuan Bajo. The numerous yachts/ boats in the bay did occasionally spoil the view.
The hotel lobby had a stunning view over the bay, which was amazing to see everyday, especially at sunset. The rooms were luxurious & bathrooms very spacious. The pier & deck area were great for relaxing by the seafront & gaining access for swimming. The staff everywhere were friendly & always helpful, despite a heavy number of guests.

SingaporeI did not quite like the breakfast buffet. I asked for an omelette and it took 30 mins. Variety is limited.
The rooms are big and clean. The staff is very nice and hospitable. My son was unwell on the day we had to check out. The manager came with the nurse to the room and provided medication, sent ginger honey tea on the house and suggested to us to stay till our departure time which was at 3pm. They were kind and understanding. Private beach was enjoyable
