Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe outside stones and tiles are very slippery. The pool could be cleaner around the edges (moss growing in some areas), the staircase to the balcony is tiny and rusting which is a hazard and the walls of the villa have small holes so the mosquito net was used every night. Despite this, it was still a good place to stay.
Great place. We had a lovely stay for our honeymoon. The staff were welcoming and attentive. They dressed our room for our honeymoon and it was beautiful. Our villa was rustic and we loved the look of the place. It was remote, peaceful and had all we needed. We had a refreshing private pool and a balcony overlooking the rice fields. The restaurant food was ok. Despite being remote transport was eaily accessible via the helpful resort staff. We booked a day with a driver who was polite and willing to show us the amazing sites around Ubud. If you're not comfortable with insects or wildlife then this is not the place for you. We had a few visit our villa. Which we didn't mind. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThis is a beautiful location with a fantastic breakfast, friendly staff and lush surroundings. Our room and bathroom was huge but unfortunately the room prep was a little disappointing for a hotel of this rating. The mosquito net was dirty and torn, the tea/coffee was not restocked, no swimming towels were provided for the ensuite pool, the pool had not been cleaned and there were no cushions for the outdoor seating provided. The shower has pebble stones that are too big and not comfortable so we had to scoop them aside to shower, and the water pressure was poor. The plants in the bathroom were in dirty smelly water and there were no bath or shower mats to stand on when you got out.

AustraliaA bit far away from Ubud Central, hot water not consistent (would be hot for 1-2min then cold for another 1-2min)
Staff were very lovely and went above and beyond. They opened a coconut for me to drink even though I bought it elsewhere and also organised for our takeaway food to be reheated when we asked for it. Rooms are large and spacious. The private pool was very scenic. Close to the Tegalalang rice fields. Price at the restaurant very reasonable. Breakfast was really good, recommend the nasi goreng. Love the fresh juice available too, especially papaya and avocado smoothies, not too sweet

AustraliaMaybe the food is not the best, we ordered in the restaurant of the hotel and it was room service, It was ok I mean it was not bad but there are many restaurants in Ubud much better than the hotel.
The hotel was really good, it is quite far from the center of Ubud but it's really quiet and the rice terraces in front are beautiful. I would highly recommend it if you want to relax with your partner for the holidays :)

United KingdomVery attentive staff, Dekta, Komang & Sakunta were always very helpful with anything and everything we asked. Our driver/guide, Dek, was great. He was very friendly, and was able to answer all our questions on local customs and Bali in general. His driving always felt safe, and any recommendations he gave us for places to visit were always perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The food was great, especially the smoothie bowls and the Nasi/Mie Gorengs. The surrounding Rice fields made us feel immersed in Bali straight away. The value for money was amazing, especially with the quality & comfort of the place, as well as all the services on offer. We will definitely be recommending Barung Bali Resort and Dek to any friends and family that are visiting Ubud.

CanadaGave me the wrong room but got rectified the next day. Saw a rat just outside that ‘wrong’ room (villa) the first night there. Good thing my door wasn’t opened. - Ants everywhere - TBH:- Only a 1-year old hotel (as I was informed) but definitely needs deep cleaning & maintenance. Doors don’t latch well or are broken. Cobwebs!! Insane amount in the room If you can deal with the gecko & frog noises too at night, then it’s good too.
Quiet area with great views of mountain & rice fields

AustraliaThe stairs up to the room but well worth it for the views. And both above 50years, we managed just fine!
Loved the location, in the rice fields off the main street. Lovely and peaceful. Great room on the 3rd floor with fantastic views & our own dipping pool. 2 balconies both with spectacular views. Excellent shower & an outdoor bath tub. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of variety. Staff were helpful & friendly & organised a massage in the room for us aswell as a driver for a day trip.

AustraliaMy only criticism would be that a couple of the meals from the restaurant were a little disappointing. This may be due to the fact they were room service? eg salmon was def overcooked, as was crispy skin duck. All the other Indonesian meals were great tho 🙂
The staff were beautiful & very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. I was on the 2nd floor - they call it the 3rd floor & the views of the surrounding mountains & rice terraces below were breathtaking! However with steep steps & 3 flights up it was a challenge for me but the staff were always so cheerful & helpful with room service & everything else I needed to make me comfortable 😊

SingaporeWe ordered room service from Mimpi Manis, the restaurant attached to Barong Bali. The food was mostly mediocre, with some being below expectations. The pad thai was too salty, Thai coconut curry was lacking taste, the pizza was wet, with toppings falling off from the pizza.
The location was great. Very quiet and peaceful. The walk we took around the area to the near by waterfall was such a joy. Every evening we were greeted by an amazing sunset which we could watch unobstructed from the private pool / bath tub. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. They even came by everyday to light mosquito coils.

South AfricaThe location was not great... The view was terrible and there is nothing in close proximity to the hotel. My room was located next to the restaurant/kitchen and it was very noisy from very early in the morning. I can understand sounds from nature like the frogs or crickets but staff members should be more considerate... Just a weird layout really... The breakfast was limited. The pizza was really bad and expensive... Just not many options on the menu. The room could do with a proper clean.. There was a mouse in the room that we could not get rid of.
The room was really nice, but I thought I was getting a different room to what I was given. So the info/photos on the website/booking.com is somewhat misleading.

SpainThe beds are unfortunately uncomfortable and the rooms are dusty old and there are cob webs. You get a very eco-tourism vibe from it but its not what its sold as unfortunately. The private pool is very cold and most ppl wont use it I think. The location is very far from anything of note in Ubud area. So be prepared to be in a car if you want to do anything. As mentioned above the food is good but the breakfast options are limited to a lot of different egg dishes with extras. Fine for one night but limited in scope for multiple days.
The staff are extremely accomodating, friendly and willing to help you with anything you might need and which they have the power to fulfill. The area around the hotel is secluded and great for private evenings Food is good if a little slow in terms of service.

AustraliaI expected the room a bit cleaner in general, the bath in particular was filthy but we asked the staff to clean it and they did it quickly. Another thing was our villa has a pool and the water was really cold cause it did not get any sun light so we did not use it. They could improve in cleanliness and maintenance. Also, the food at the restaurant was just okay, we had breakfast included for the hole stay and we expected a bit more amount and more variety. The fact that we had to pay for juices separately surprised me too.
I loved the location cause it was in the middle of a rural area, surrounded by rice fields and locals working on them. We used a taxi to go to Ubud which took 35 minutes. The villa itself was lovely, big and comfy bed. Also, the staff were amazing, super friendly and welcoming, always willing to help us.

AustraliaIt would have been great if the resort provided a shuttle bus to Ubud centre like most other places do. It is a bit far from most things, including places to get essentials and groceries. not an issue, but the booking stated that bath robes were provided and there were none in the room, no big drama, that was the only thing that was lacking from the booking.
It actually looked like the pictures! the breakfast provided was fantastic too. I had dinner there one night and it was also great. The location is away from the main area of Ubud, ensuring a more quiet and peaceful stay.

BrazilThe water in our shower wasn't hot! We had lobster in our dinner and was 350g on the menu, but we believe it was less than that, but the tasty was amazing and we loved our ceaser salad.
All the staff were super helpful, we loved our flooding breakfast, hot coffee like barist coffee, I didn't really like the orange juice, it could be fresher, good location, amazing view from our room. We liked the restaurant food as well, breakfast and dinner.
