Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property was great - the only thing we’d change is a bigger breakfast selection as it’s quite limited. That said, the staff were very open to you tailoring to your taste.
Gorgeous interiors, very clean and lovely setting in the centre of stunning Ubud.

United KingdomThe breakfast was not at the level we would have expected for this level of hotel and the staff were not even able to provide a slice of toast to go with eggs I ordered for breakfast - I was told to go and toast my own at the buffet station. We ate at the hotel on the night we arrived due to a very late arrival - the most expensive meal on the whole of a four week trip of Indonesia for a few starters which were nothing special at all.
Enjoyed our stay overall, lovely staff and hotel in good position.

United StatesThe room was damp but the ac helped! The road the hotel is on is well serviced with a lot of shops, restaurants and spas but the traffic is insane, making a bit difficult to get around on foot or car/bike
The rooms are gorgeous, with extremely comfortable bed and sofa, great shower and Japanese bath tub. The pool is truly incredible, and the bar upstairs is delicious.

AustraliaThe breakfast buffet was thoughtful with a small but delicious selection of fruits, pastries, and cereal. However the a la carte menu was limited and not overly tasty (we tried most of it on our 5 day stay). About 15 minute walk just to the start of the Main Street, however we found we had to catch a motorcycle/car to get close to the good shopping/eating locations as they were probably a good 30mins walk away
Very clean Beautiful rooms - we stayed in the forest suite and it was amazing We especially liked the complimentary activities - yoga, cooking classes, mocktail classes. Staff were friendly and very helpful with anything that we needed

United KingdomBeautiful modern design, amazing spa and outstanding restaurant, very friendly and attentive staff. We stayed in Villa 1, it had everything that we needed and more. Stunning rooms, beautiful outdoor living room, super comfortable beds. We loved the location, close to money forest so we got to see lots of monkeys, which the kids loved and just 5 mins walk from start of busy area with restaurants. We were a family of 5, each with small suitcase and hotel transfer was perfect and only 100k more than the much less comfortable taxi we got on arrival at airport. We had a number of treatments at the spa and they were top class and fairly priced.

United KingdomThe pool was in the shade all day which meant it was really cold. I do appreciate that a heated pool is costly and not good for the environment so this is a minor one. That said, we couldn't really enjoy it as it was too cold. The proximity to the monkey forest is great however one day we left a sealed bag of dried bananas in the living room, and 3 (aggressive) monkeys came and tore it apart and played with whatever was there. My mum was really scared but staff helped. This is most probably our fault for leaving the food there (although it was sealed, how could they smell it??) so again, a minor.
Our Bisma Eight Villa was amazing! Really nicely decorated, great space, amazing staff who were extremely friendly and made our stay an even better experience. And the value for money is really good - you'd never find such a gem in Europe for such a small price. The location is great, right in the middle of everything.

United KingdomNot sure the hotel is suitable for children under 12. The pool isn’t conducive for young kids who want to play noisily. A japenense bath tub that takes 45 min to fill up. Such a waste of water
Location was fantastic. Wonderful views from the infinity pool. Great service from all staff. Highly recommend the restaurant Copper. Delicious.

United KingdomWe loved our stay at Bisma Eight. We are a family of five (kids 8, 6; and 4) and stayed in a two bed villa. The villas are in excellent condition and are so well laid out so there was plenty of space for us. The staff are so welcoming, attentive and helpful. The breakfast at Embers was delicious and they accommodated our fussy children's requests! The main pool area is about 500m up the road and that was great too. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

AustraliaNothing bad to say. Loved it
Really modern design and very open and clean. Created a very comfortable vibe that was extremely relaxing. Staff were perfect. Great view from the infinity pool overlooking the jungle, lots of lounges and umbrellas. Pool side bar had my favourite cocktail the Cucumber Smash. The suites were very spacious and the house keeping was excellent. Mini bar and restaurant prices all very fair and food was 10/10. Great location, close enough to all the hotspots without being in the middle of all the craziness.

NorwayThe hotel needs to decide if its a boutique hotel or a family hotel. Such a small hotel with a quiet location should not be for small children. The pool area should be quiet and relaxing, but once small children are allowed it ruins the peace for everyone there. It wasn't a lot of kids there, but just two small ones managed to ruin the peace for all the guest there, I was not the only one visibly annoyed. It would have been a 9/10 if no kids. The sofa and living room furniture in the rooms could use replacing, starting to look worn. 10/10 with newer furniture and no kids.
Loved the pool area. Great free yoga session. Large room, comfortable beds. Staff was attentive, food was great and a quiet location in Ubud. Great sunsets.

AustraliaWhen a hotel has a renowned restaurant we expect breakfast and poolside food to be of an equally high standard. Breakfast at Bisma Eight was plentiful and decent but not excellent or executed with flair. The western options like eggs, pancakes and granola were better than the Indonesian options of fried rice and rice porridge. Unfortunately, some of the side dishes needed more care: the side of greens sat in a pool of water, the side of mushrooms looked limp and pale, and the potato rosti was a little raw inside. Juices were a little watery. Poolside sushi was also quite average. The best hotel breakfast we have had was at The Luxe in Ubud so we measure everywhere else against them, and Bisma Eight still has some way to go.
+ Arriving at the hotel it looks unassuming but as soon as you walk in it is stunning and stylish throughout. + We requested and were allocated quiet rooms. + The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and spacious with a luxe feel. + The gardens are tranquil and it is lovely walking to the pool area. + The infinity pool over the jungle is magical. + All of the guests at the pool were quiet and respectful of each other. + Our flight was late at night and we were able to use the hotel facilities like the pool, shower and toilets. + Breakfast is cooked to order and very generous - you are able to order limitless side dishes e.g. mini waffles, eggs, smoked salmon. + Attentive service and staff members greet you when they see you.

United KingdomThere is a lot of construction outside the hotel. Right outside our room actually. It didn’t affect our trip that bad but something to be mindful of. There is construction everywhere in Bali so hard to get away from it and not the hotels fault.
What an amazing hotel! The staff were so kind and helpful, the best on our trip. We arrived at 1am from the airport and met with a lovely welcome. The hotel design is stunning, the use of natural materials is very calming and serine. Breakfast was the best! So many options and every one was very yummy!! I recommend the local breakfast rice porridge it’s savoury and very tasty. The pool is small but never felt busy even though the hotel was fully booked. The copper kitchen is still some of the best food we had in Ubud- very very good! EMBERS is the other restaurant and that was sooooo good! I would recommend this hotel for a honeymoon super relaxing and calming
