How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).

Verified reviewBleu Mathis Gili Asahan was the perfect place to end our vacation in Lombok, with an incredible view over the ocean, snorkeling activities, and good food. The staff working there are amongst the friendliest people we’ve met in Indonesia (which is saying something !), they are hardworking and professional, and very easy to talk to, we’ve had a great time chatting with them.

Staff speak limited English, which makes fulsome service a bit limited. Especially considering the price, the food at the restaurant is mediocre. The menu reads well, but the food consistently came out overcooked and dry. Would recommend eating elsewhere on Gili Asahan.

Verified reviewIn general, if you are looking for a place far away from people to just chill back and relax. This is the place for you. Place is kept clean. Staff are nice and attentive to your requests. But that is generally all there is to it.
There is a bit of a privacy issue. Although you can lower the shades if someone really wanted to they can see into your room. I was hoping the glass was reflective, but it isn’t. Very important to note as well. This is a hotel on an Island. To get to the island you have to get in a boat. Chances are as you are getting on or off the boat you will 100% get wet. So make sure to wear shorts. Food was Mid. Don’t expect anything crazy good. But overall doesn’t hurt your stomach so in a way that is positive. During our stay a family decided to play fire works next to where we were having dinner. Which I get is cool but it took away from the quietness I would have loved to enjoy there. Please don’t be that person.

Verified reviewThe very helpful and friendly staff organized a very nice individual boat trip around the Gilli Islands. The gentleman who accompanied us on the trip deserves special thanks for his commitment. He showed us the most beautiful coral reefs, and when my partner and I wanted to swim, he took care of our son. The hotel is located on a beautiful island, not crowded with tourists, so if you want to truly relax, I recommend this place. It was worth it, and I'll remember you fondly. Thank you.

Verified reviewMagnificent property directly on the beach of Gili Asahan. Very kind guys and ready to provide any information. We highly recommend the snorkeling excursion with the guide and the tour of the island by kayak (activities for a fee). Rooms with large windows towards the sea. Dinner at the hotel is good but I recommend a simple walk of 500 meters to reach the restaurants in the south of the island. Magnificent sunset to see in front of the hotel with a cocktail. Sweet or savoury breakfast à la carte.

Their ikan Pepes is the best on the island and we really enjoyed our stay here. You get an amazing view of the sunset here 😍

Every day, they welcomed us with a big, warm smile and made us feel at home from the very first moment. They were always incredibly attentive to every detail, making sure we had everything we needed, and their kindness and care really made us feel special throughout our stay. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and spotless, with an elegant design and a breathtaking view that we never got tired of. The whole hotel is absolutely charming, with a peaceful and intimate atmosphere, carefully curated spaces, and a real sense of comfort and serenity. They also offer a variety of activities, all really well organized, making it easy to enjoy the best the area has to offer without any stress.

Verified reviewBeautiful and quite island vibe. Very peaceful and no cars & scooters on the island. I can definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have maximum relaxation for maybe 3-5nights. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The food is sadly not on the level it should be for that type of accommodation & for the prices you pay for the feed. A well trained headchef could solve the issue very quickly. Breakfast is very good und reaches the needed quality - but not the dinner or snacks.

Verified reviewTo sum it up: our stay was amazing. The organisation perfect, we were picked up and dropped off at Pantai Kores, the transfers were all organised by the staff. We were upgraded the the beachfront plunge villa, which was absolutely magnificent. The sunset views, the bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom gorgeous. We did a snorkelling expedition and went kayaking, which was all possible directly from the hotel. The food and drinks were delicious, floating breakfast, romantic dinner by the beach… Our 4 days went by so quickly. Special thanks to Roby, Takdir and Andre and the rest of the staff for making our stay unforgettable. We would stay here again anytime.

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing experience! We had the most unforgettable honeymoon at Blue Mathis! I went there with my wife, and honestly, we couldn't have found a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. The experience was absolutely amazing—far beyond what we expected. The level of professionalism and kindness from the staff was exceptional. We stayed for 6 days in a beautiful room/villa with a private pool. Although the island is quite isolated, the resort truly has everything you could possibly need—whether it's relaxing by the pool, enjoying delicious food, or exploring through the various activities and tours they offer. From the service to the facilities and cuisine, everything was perfect. We would absolutely recommend Blue Mathis!
The beach in front of the resort is looking very nice, but not ideal for swimming. However, staff is always there to arrange you a tour to some of the surrounding islands with amazing underwater world (turtles as well ).

Continous blackouts (few seconds, but enough to make the Wifi unreliable for minutes at a time.) The chair in our room broke down under my wife risking her back and our laptops Don't trust Google Maps: unless there is very low tide, you cannot walk from this place to the rest of the island; you need to rely on boats. Prices at the restaurant are 3x / 4x all the prices I have ever seen in lombok / bali

Someone needs to take action on the amount of plastics in the beaches next to the hotel and in the sea. It’s not the hotel fault but they need to push the local authorities to try to find a solution.
