How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe stay is surrounded by rice paddies on almost all sides which makes for a good morning view. There is an uninterrupted view of Mount Agung and the sunrise on a clear day from Room 1 balcony which is mind-blowing. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom is big and clean. Our room had two balconies which I loved. The pool area is small but looked clean, did not get a chance to use it though. They serve good proper breakfast in the room and even went beyond of serving it at 7 AM in the morning to accommodate our schedule. The staff is friendly and is always available for help, even at odd hours.
The entrance to the stay is a narrow 30m lane beside a Indomaret which you are bound to miss. There are no restaurants on site so either you will have to cook or get a delivery via Grab. The stay itself is about 15 km from the city center so Grab delivery charges are a little extra. A couple of suggestions for the room - a full length mirror and the convenience location of the charging points would have been nice.

Verified reviewFrom the moment I arrived at Cenik Villa Ubud, I was welcomed with the warmest smiles and genuine hospitality. As this was my very first time visiting Bali—and traveling alone—I was understandably nervous. But that anxiety melted away the second I met the incredible staff. They were not only kind and welcoming, but truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home. During my 8-day stay, they provided amazing recommendations that allowed me to experience the best of Ubud and its surroundings. Thanks to them, every day was filled with something memorable, from exploring hidden gems to simply enjoying peaceful moments at the Villa. I honestly didn’t want to leave—I could have easily stayed longer! The Villa itself is nothing short of breathtaking. Nestled on a peaceful rice terrace, it offers the most serene and relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the view of lush green fields and the sound of nature was pure magic. If you’re looking for tranquility and authentic Balinese charm, this is the place. Cenik Villa Ubud is the only place I can see myself staying when I return to Bali. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience, and one I’ll never forget. A huge thank you to the amazing staff for making my solo trip so special. I can’t recommend this Villa enough to anyone visiting Bali. It’s truly a hidden gem!

Verified reviewI recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning villa, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The villa itself was immaculate, with spacious, beautifully designed rooms that offered everything we needed for comfort and relaxation. The view from the villa was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast each morning was a highlight as well. It was a delicious spread of fresh ingredients with a variety of options that catered to all tastes. We loved starting the day with a beautiful view and a satisfying, flavorful meal. A special mention goes to the main host, Ekka, who is an incredible guy - always available for a chat and eager to help. He went out of his way to ensure our needs were met and made our stay even more enjoyable. A truly exceptional stay!

Verified reviewThis is a beautiful villa in the middle of working rice fields. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious and we were lucky to have the pool to ourselves during our stay. Breakfast was good with 4 options to choose from, western, Indonesian etc. staff were very friendly and attentive. I picked this place for the location to get away from the chaos of ubud, but it’s important to note there are only a couple of restaurants within walking distance so you will need to have a scooter or rely on grab to get around. Would definitely stay again.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Cenik Villa! We had been on a big exhausting hike the night before and this was a lovely place to relax and rest. The rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was comfy and had good aircon. Ekka and the staff were so lovely and accommodating, always helpful and kind. The Villa is in a quiet, relaxing spot, about 15-20 mins from the busy streets of Ubud, and another short ride to the Tegallalang Rice terraces. The rice fields around Cenik Villa are so peaceful. Had a few nice restaurants a short walk away. We got nice breakfast and lunch at the Villa as well as good massages. Was a great place to stay, would definitely stay again! :)
The only thing was there wasn’t enough hot water to be able to fill the bath tub. If you want a better view of the rice fields book a suite as they are on the top floor and the deluxe rooms are the bottom floor.
