How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Br sure to ask for toilet paper or take your own.
The rooms are simple but sufficient and very good value for money. The food was lovely and fresh. The English speaking was very good. All the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Hot water would be nice. We were there one night and there was no hot water.
Good location. Friendly staff. I asked if i can get scrambled eggs for breakfast and there was no problem.

Our TV in the room didnt work and couldnt connect to the set top box but we didnt find any issues since we were mostly out and relatively tired after the tours.
Homestay reached out immediately after the booking to confirm stay and responded to queries promptly. A lot of tours to nearby attractions can be done and arranged through the homestay and we did both Tumpak Sewu and Mt Bromo tours over consecutive days following the staff's recommendation. Overall stay, bedroom and bathroom, and food options were good, not forgetting their amazing staff who made the start of our holiday great - shoutout to Mas Arya and Mbak Sudus (and more) for the great hospitality!

Great friendly staff, good location - easy to walk around, room is big enough and comfortable but not anything fancy, staff helped me get a driver up to Bromo for much cheaper than a grab, good breakfast

All good.
Helpful staff including help with drivers. Good simple food available. Extra power outlets in room. Comfortable. Not too far for Gunung Bromo access. We had awesome afternoon hike.

A simple but clean small hotel. Staffs are super friendly. The two gentlemen at the reception are extremely helpful. They helped me to book train tickets when it was extremely hard to get one due to the national holiday. One of them even took me on his motorbike to get to Indomaret to make the payment otherwise I would miss the payment deadline and lost the booking.

Very cute homestay, rooms were clean and perfect for heading to bromo (can rent bikes from clover). Staff are also lovely and it has a restaurant too

No major complaints. The location is maybe a bit boring with nothing much to do, but downtown is only 20 min walk or a quick taxi ride away.
Comfortable room, professional staff, well organised tours and a nice restaurant at the premises. All around this is a great place to stay in Probolinggo.

food and coffee, that could be really better. And please, when you order black coffee, make sure you mention no sugar, lady from kitchen by default prepared black coffee with sugar automatically. The same coffee with milk means that it comes mixed already. Maybe that is how it works in Indonesia :)
Very kind stuff, helpful, and communicative. Breakfast were a little bit poor, could be better, but that's maybe personal preference. I can really recommend this accommodation, especially if you plan Bromo trip or you need help with further traveling.

Nice and friendly staff. Attentive to every request. Good WiFi. Simple and comfortable accommodation. We booked our bromo and Madakaripura waterfall trips through them and they managed all perfectly.
