Amazing view and accommodation. Beach was superb but they ask that you not sunbathe directly outside the property

There is a swampy area to the back and side which could smell a little.

Highly recommend! The location is perfect, close to the town and right in front of the beach. The room was nice and cosy with view on the sea and palm trees. The staff is super friendly and helpful! They orgnize a personalised trip of islands for us, helped us with a moto bike and booked the ferry tickets on our behalf! And of course the breakfast is really really amazing! Thank you once again for all you help during our stay!

Very relaxing place with best views as it’s at the end of all the building (as at Aug 2025). Your view is over the beach to the three coconut grove islands with the closest being 1 km offshore and surf beaks in the distance. Tables, chairs with day bed at front of property and another set of tables and chairs on beach which is part shaded. Staff were most helpful and the best breakfast.

Nice location on the beach, very good free breakfast

The place is very run down like the other reviews suggest, overall cleanliness is not great. Water from bathroom does smell very bad so you don’t really feel clean

Overall ok considering there is no other proper accommodations in the island. The smell from backyard’s swamp/river (?) is quite noticeable though, and the water taste and smell weirdly strong. Could’ve been better.

Communication of The personell and the attitude of the owner. If you want something, The housekeeper always starts with the sorry no speak good inglisz, and then when they have any problem she suddenly speaks fluent english

We were served a different breakfast each of the 3 days we stayed and they were all exceptional. You can really tell when food is prepared with thought and care.

There is construction on a building right next door. However unless you stay in your room during the day (which is unlikely given the stunning beaches) it is not a problem. I also assume that it will be completed in the next couple of months.

The location was pretty and right on the beach, the people who work here are very kind and welcoming but that was it.

Our experience here wasn’t good, the rooms don’t look like the pictures in booking, our bathroom was completely unusable. The mirror was almost falling from the wall and completely rotten. The water from the shower smelled like sewer and my hair after one bath was left with the same smell. The shower is also rotten and needs to be replaced ASAP. During the first and only night we stayed here, we were woken up by a super loud chanting/prayer at around 5am that lasted a long time and didn’t allow us to get any sleep. We booked 3 nights and ended up only staying for one, had to book another hotel for the rest of our stay. The money we paid here was not that little for the conditions we had (which were almost none). Not that it’s the worst thing but the beach in front of the homestay doesn’t allow women to wear a bikini at the beach so you have to walk a few meters to another beach. Also the breakfast is very basic (you don’t really choose anything/they don’t give you any options, they just made us avocado toast with fried eggs, I don’t eat eggs so that wasn’t great either)

I think this is the best homestay near Tuapejat. It is right at the beach, rooms with AC, wifi and hot water, delicious breakfast with fresh bread and staff that can help arranging tours and scooters. Yes, it might need a bit of maintenance but it did not bother my stay. In general staying at a homestay in Tuapejat is the more affordable alternative compared to these luxurious resorts in the nearby smaller islands. A bit more low key with less luxury but it does give a much better experience of the local culture including delicious Indonesian food and plenty of options of boat and scooter tours. So if you decide to stay at a homestay, adjust your expectations and the Crow’s Nest is the best option.

A bit more maintenance would help. And in general be aware of mosquitoes.

The breakfast was great, and the beach view as well! Clean comfy room that look like the pictures.

The room was not cleaned daily, the walls are like paper, you basically feel like the people in the room next door are in your room! (You literally hear them going to the bathroom). Also, not allowed to go on bikini on the beach in front, you need to walk a bit, which is not terrible but not very convenient. Restaurants are quite "far" to walk to lunch and evening. Also, you don't see the surroundings on the pictures but it is very noisy (a lot of construction) and not well developed/not very clean.

    Property response:

Thank you for the review Manon, we’ll try our best to improve the things. We hope to see you again

Easily the best location from all the homestays we saw on the island, beautiful beach in front of the house. Decent bule style breakfast (pancakes, toast, avocado/egg sourdough sandwich, plenty of fruits). Paddleboard available for guests. The owner helped us with renting motorbikes. The staff is lovely, helped us with chartering a boat at decent price to go back to Padang when the fast feery got cancelled:)

The bathroom could use a bit of a do-over.

    Property response:

Thank you so much for the review Lukasz, it was a pleasure to host you all. We hope to see you again in the future
