How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewwe liked the location, very close to the Lipah beach so you can get out of the water walk a 100 m and have a shower in your room. Well located too with the little supermarket and restaurant next door and a few excellent other restaurant venues very close. We liked our room loction too as it was at the back of the property (no road noise and dust), and felt quite private. The room size was great, we had selected a studio with a mini kitchen and bathroom that included a bath as well as a shower. The fridge and kettle were both handy, one to keep the beer cool, the other to make a cuppa tea and boil drinking water to refill our water bottle. the rest was very basic, as in few cooking implements (don't expect to actually be able to cook). The bathroom was clean, we sometimes had hot water running. Towels were provided but as we left them to dry outside they diminished in number... We really enjoyed having plugged into a power point a mosquito repellent system that ensured we would not get bitten overnight. AC and fan as choices. We did not try the swimming pool but it looked okay.
The staff was not relaxed and not pleasant. We stayed 3 nights but they kept on asking every morning when we were leaving , having NOT checked our information. They would acknowledge us each time we got in and out of the hotel and asked if we needed a taxi, a scooter, a massage, a boat tour... and any new staff would, irrespective of the others' questions keep on asking those same questions. It made us feel like 'preys' rather than guests. They were not actually rude but their oblivion to how they made us feel was very unpleasant. This said the staff helped us get a taxi at short notice and unexpectedly as our planned taxi driver did not turn up. Another thing I did not like was that the pillows showed signs of mould. Understandable with the weather there but not expected. I put my spare sarong on the pillow and all was well.

Verified reviewThe room we stayed in on the first floor of the complex was partially renovated, which is a pleasant departure from other places of similar age, that have not been touched for 30 years. The swimming pool looked nice, too. The staff was helpful with booking activities and taxis. They even took me to the doctor when I needed it.
Finishing off the renovation in bathroom and kitchen would be great. There was building noise all day from left, right, and from the back. Very unpleasant, although it is not the property's fault. Hopefully, the building around them will be finished soon, then there is no problem.

Verified reviewThe rooms are pretty big and the bed is comfortable, in the back where our room was, it was pretty quiet. Location is good, near the beach and a few restaurants and cafe, there is a shop next door.
Bathroom needs some work, Wi-Fi works poorly in the rooms and sometimes not at all, the pool overlooks to the reception and the road. Staff constantly asks you where are you going, if you want laundry done, taxi and try to sell you other services in a pushy way, but they’re all nice and helpful

Verified reviewIt was located close to where we needed to be the following morning. It was cheap! There is a supermarket next door. Shower was ok. AC worked fine. Bed was comfortable.
I should probably start with what should I expect for 15€ per night. However the cleanliness wasn't great. Mainly in the kitchen area. There was only a single plate, a single cup, single glass, one knife and fork. (There were 3 of us staying) none of these items were clean. There was a fridge, which wasn't plugged in, and even if it was I wouldn't actually have used as it was so bad inside. Maybe there is a lesson, when the guy at check in asks do you want to see room before you pay, this is a sign to check.

Verified reviewLocation is the best, and view from the upper floor.
The curtain needs a blind, to keep the room less bright. It was very bright in the morning and we couldn't sleep since the sun rises.

Verified reviewOne of few lower end priced resort with decent review grading; which we found out are quite subjective from time to time. There’s an okay pool if you fancy a dip in the morning. As a one-nighter it’s doable if you’re in search for a cheap place. The beds did sleep okay.
The state of interior of our “villa” was poor, bathroom was in bad condition (hardly running water from tab and a dripping leak), and kitchen and living area were just old and grubby. I am surprised the grading for staff is actually quite high as for me I didn’t feel all welcome (which could just as well be because of language barrier). I’d say, either pay double the price for a better place or take it as it comes for if just for 1-2 nights.

First of all first day only the staff who welcomed us was drunk then whole night we were struggling for water in the bathroom.Next morning basin got chocked and there was no resolution by the staff.Again next night there was no water when I went to washroom after 11 PM and this continued every night. There was not dustbin provided as well. Overall it's not a good property for couples and families.

Verified reviewLipah beach is excellent, as is the local area for shops and restaurants. Swimming pool was very nice, but could get busy.
To say it is self catering the cooking and dining utensils were very limited. We had no hot water despite reporting it several times, they eventually moved rooms.

Verified reviewStunning Villa with Exceptional Views and Service I had an incredible stay at Double One Villa II in Amed! From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the m views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. The staff were always friendly and ready to assist with anything we needed. Amed itself is a peaceful area, great for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. It’s also ideal for snorkeling and diving, with crystal-clear waters just a short drive away. I highly recommend Double One Villa II for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Bali. We'll definitely be returning!
