    Good location

There was construction at the property with building materials around the pool. Staff were not helpful. Quite a loud events venue across the road. Gym equipment is very poor.

Clean rooms, great staff, good location. They made my room every day it was fantastic. The diving staff were friendly, informative and approachable.

I didn't like being told I wasnt allowed to dive with any other dive shop following my booking. The irony of this is I would have dived with them regardless as it is an excellent dive shop. Absoultely no complaints regarding the dive centre. I just don't like being forced into something/feeling like I have no options on my holiday.

Design is cool, nice diver vibe to sit around the pool in the evening.

We booked a private room. Beds are absolutely not comfortable . Mattresses are hard; bed sheets are cheap synthetic fabrics that create static electricity and sparks as you try to sleep. No blankets offered. If you like to sleep in comfort, I don’t recommend. Bathroom door doesn’t close tight, so no privacy. Room rate is quite high comparing to other hotels , and it’s not the best value for money. We planned to stay 3 nights but changed hotel after one, as it’s not worth it.

The pool is very nice and the art around the property is amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom is very nice. It is easy to book dives right there on site. The restaurant is also very nice.

Number one thing we loved: the building is well insulated so we couldn’t hear the prayers played over the loud speakers too much, which is very important for a light sleeper like me. The room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was nice and had a separate shower area. There was hot water, more than anywhere else we stayed in Indonesia, and they provide body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The restaurant was yummy though a little pricy (though on-par with other touristy restaurants in Bajo), and the kitchen staff were very nice. They were able to modify a lot of the dishes to make them vegetarian for me. The pool is a great size (built for diving lessons) and seems to be well maintained. The gym is also well stocked with workout gear!

Our main issue was feeling a little harassed by the staff as every time we left our room they would pitch activities/excursions to us. We did not enjoy feeling like we couldn’t step outside without them trying to sell us something. Also, on the day we checked out, their main activity coordination guy introduced himself to us and tried to get us to sign up for their activities. This would have been nice except he already pitched the same stuff to us multiple times in the preceding days, and we had already checked out of the hotel… Our other main annoyance was that our room was located next to a room they’re using to store cleaning and construction supplies. This meant that the staff was right outside our door early every morning, and they were not quiet. I was awoken several times by them fully yelling to each other and laughing loudly. It’s great they get along, but it was a little too loud for me to sleep. The restaurant is in the top floor of the hotel, but you have to walk outside to get up to it and there is no covering over the stairs so they get very slippery in the rain. I did fall down the stairs because of how slippery it was. Finally, as other reviews have mentioned, the staff are usually hanging out around the pool area. This is fine, but we did feel a little watched when using the pool, especially as two young foreign women. Bajo seems to be a bit more of a conservative area, so we tried to cover up as much as we could. We just still felt very observed.

Beautiful little hotel, much in the centre of the city. Many things, incl. the port easy to reach by walking. For sporty ones: we even arrived by walking from the airport... ;) Lovely little pool, cute naming / styling of rooms. Nice fresh juices and food. Even tough you are not going for scuba diving a nice place to stay! Would choose it again!

Depending the room you have, kitchen might be noisy... we were right below - so everything (moving chairs, cutting stuff) can be heard pretty loud. For me it was ok - others might be bothered.

    Local Indonesian Staff

After booking a non-refundable hotel, we didn't check the messages and missed the policy that all guests must dive with their dive center. Fortunately, we hadn't made any other bookings, so it was fine for us. We arrived at the resort with positive vibes from Malaysia. The reception staff, who were locals, were okay and explained everything as usual. However, at the dive center, the French staff member, who looked Chinese, didn't seem to know how to smile, which dampened my mood a bit. Thankfully, another local staff member approached us with the right attitude, which lifted my spirits. The diving experience was just average. Only a few staff members were friendly and spoke English. Most of the divers were French, and some of them seemed gloomy. On the second night, there were on and off electricity issues, and I woke up a few times because of the heat. I had to wake up early feeling tired due to the interrupted sleep. On the third day, I asked one of the French staff members for a diving video that another staff member had mentioned during the dive. He simply said no. When I asked again, he ignored me. I decided to ask other staff members instead. Later, I asked him about the price of a diving shirt, and he arrogantly replied, "I am not working now," without even looking at me. What the heck! On the last day before we checked out, there were water issues, which was another minus point for this so-called "resort." In conclusion, there are many other options in Labuan Bajo, and I would not recommend this hotel.

    Property response:

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback about your stay with us. We genuinely value every guest's experience, and I’m truly sorry to hear that certain aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations. Firstly, I apologize if our policy about diving with our dive center wasn’t as clear as it should have been. I will ensure we improve communication on this to avoid any future misunderstandings. Regarding your interaction with our staff, I’m disappointed to learn that you didn’t feel entirely welcomed by everyone. While we take pride in offering a warm, friendly atmosphere, it's clear we have room for improvement. I’ll personally look into this feedback with our team to reinforce the importance of hospitality across all touchpoints. I’m also sorry for the discomfort you experienced due to the power and water interruptions. We’re located in a remote area where such issues can occasionally arise, though we are actively working with local providers to minimize the impact on our guests. Lastly, I’d like to address your experience with the video inquiry. As we welcome many guests from around the world, including a significant number from France, not everyone you may encounter is part of our staff team. Additionally, some photographers prefer to keep their creative work private unless there is a specific arrangement, and we respect their choice. That said, I understand how this interaction may have felt, and I will work with our team to ensure inquiries are consistently met with clear communication and support. We would love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and show you an experience that reflects our true standards. Thank you again for your honest review, which helps us improve and grow.

friendly staff, clean accommodation, good price/quality ratio

It did not look like so nice as on the photos at all, much more out-dated rooms, no lightbulbs in the lamps. Pretty basic accommodation, but cheap so that is ok. It is visible that the hotel is mainly for the divers, during the day it is lively, fortunately in the night it was silent. You will get a message that you cannot dive with another diving school otherwise you will be kicked out, but it was ok, we did not have in plan to dive at all.

Very cool community with fun property and amenities. We loved the convenience of the dive center being right in the middle of things. The team could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean, the AC was strong and the water hot. The restaurant on property was delicious - we enjoyed most meals there! It’s in a walkable area with great restaurants all within easy reach. As for our dive day - the dive masters and instructors are all pros and we were in very capable hands with them. They planned a well executed day including all the equipment we needed to three dive sites and we saw some incredible reef, turtles, sharks and more. Couldn’t recommend Dragon Dive more!

    Nothing!
