How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe staff at the hotel are amazing. So friendly and helpful and made me feel special on my birthday. The hotel is in a good location and be pool and the view is brilliant. The shopping centre being next door is handy as well.

The bad sheet has yellow stains. The wall is thin not sound proof. In the evening can still hear boom sound from nearby bars and noises from next door. Has no free bottles of water in the room, no hot water kettle provided, not event instant coffee powders, if you need a simple black coffee only way to get from onsite restaurants and it’s over priced at 56K.

Verified reviewThe bed is very comfortable and the location is good (in the center of Manado).
The hotel is generally unkempt. The rooms are aging, as is the swimming pool. The bathroom smells of sewage and is full of rust and mildew. The toilet was leaking, which caused us to flood the bathroom during the night. There are stains on the pillows, and the bedding doesn't smell particularly good... There was only one bathrobe for two. We asked for towels, which never arrived. The food is far too spicy (we're used to traveling in Asia and love chilli, but this was inedible). We couldn’t eat anything… very disappointing for a Sheraton!

I got a food poisoning (throwing up and diarrhea) after consuming the room service, seems like the fish was not well cooked or not fresh. Also, most of the breakfast buffet are cold and they don't use the heater. Taste bad too except the omelette and the pastry. The connecting room was not well insulated and I could hear everything. My neighbors were very loud at 11 pm but it took more than 15 minutes for the staff to calm them down .

We ordered some food at the room service. They were completely confused and brought food different from what we ordered. We had to wait an hour an a half for the omelette.

Verified reviewExcellent, large room that was clean and comfortable with all the extras you’d need (toiletries, tea and coffee). Nice to have a fridge in the room. Right next door with access to Townhall square mall and huge amount of restaurants and cafes
There are only 3 Sun loungers left by the pool and they’re not in great condition. Presumably all the others have fallen apart and been got rid off. No umbrellas or shade at pool. There are lots of outdoor sofas and chairs in the bar area but of the 4 days I was there, they only bothered to put the mattresses and cushions out once, despite being asked about them on other days. Without them, the seating is very uncomfortable. If there is a wedding in the pool area (seems fairly common at weekends), the whole place is out of action for the day while it’s set up etc. This is not made with western tourists in mind so may not suit you if you would like to make use of sun loungers and pool area - photos of the area are deceiving. They’ve not maintained that or kept those facilities in the way they are pictured!

Verified reviewThe pool and the breakfast were gorgeous. Although I don’t understand why the management refused to provide umbrellas at the pool. So during the day it’s impossible to stay there. The tourists would get sunburned and the locals don‘t sit in the sun anyway
I was asking to have the TV repaired. When we came back in the evening, NOTHING had happened. Not even a notice In the brochure in the room it is explained, that the gym is open 24/7. But the staff told us it will be closed at 9pm.

Verified reviewVery clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Randy. He showed me how to open the snake fruit and showed me foods to try. The breakfast was fabulous.
The bar in the evening had very few drinks. We wanted to sit there with friends but there was virtually nothing available

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. We had a late flight home and requested a late check-out, which they kindly granted—really appreciated their flexibility and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located stay in Manado!
