Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPlace is declining and needs some tlc. Had mold on bedroom ceiling. Shower was blocked and not draining. Black hairs in shower. Biggest downfall is the lack of soundproofing. You can hear everything. There is a school opposite and you can hear them start every morning at 7am. They scream over a microphone. Then they do sports out the front. There is also a mosque that you can hear from 4am. So bring ear plugs. Bedroom has poor lighting. The staff were very smiley and polite but they were not trained or didn't care enough maybe I don't know. But you would have breakfast or coffee in the morning and come back at 5pm and it still wasnt cleaned up. You asked them for restaurant recommendations and they just say a street name to go down. You ask for scooter rental and they suggest the most expensive place in Indonesia. A little more service wouldn't go a miss. Also the breakfast comes with Americano. We asked to pay more and make it a latte. This wasn't possible. Only if we paid for a latte full price. Small thing but maybe it's staff training.
I feel like this place could be very very nice but it's being left to decline a little. They need to upkeep it and put a little effort in. The breakfast is pretty good. We got chicken rice bowl each morning. Comes with either Americano or tea. The bed was big and comfy. They have a water machine. WiFi was good. Water was hot in the shower. Location was in town and had a car park.

United KingdomThe first room we were given had a really strong smell of damp so we had to ask to be changed. The staff were very accommodating though and we were eventually swapped to a room we felt more comfortable in. The room was spacious and clean but there was not much space to actually put your belongings. There was also a lack of a fridge so you could not keep any of your water or drinks cold. Also, despite paying for breakfast we still had to pay for drinks separately which felt unreasonable.
The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfy. The staff was accommodating with any requests we had. Location was good and not too far from points of interest (within 10 mins grab).

The perfect stay in the heart of Yogyakarta! FX Stay is super modern, clean and comfortable- we would recommend anybody in Yogyakarta to stay here. The staff are so kind and willing to suit your individual needs and help make the stay the best it can be. Yoga organised a trip to Borobudur Temple and Prambanan temple for us with the best driver we’ve had throughout our travels, for a great price. The free breakfast is another amazing part of the home stay, it’s delicious. Must stay place, thank you everyone! We wished we could stay for longer😊😊😊😊😊

KuwaitCan have more breakfast options. There is a school opposite to the hotel, on Mondays, they do the morning assembly, which is loud, the hotel also is close to the street so you here a lot of car and motorcycle noises.

JapanThe breakfast was great. It was just that the menu variation for breakfast was too few (too little) so our choice was limited. and I think they need to add more variation of menu for the breakfast.
The location is great, near the taman sari and keraton, and the traditional market pasar ngasem, and there's also souvenir center close by. The staffs were really friendly and helpful. Once, I asked for a laundry service, and they were kindly help me sent and pick up my clothes from the near by laundry service. I really appreciate that.

IndonesiaThe parking area covers only 3-4 cars only. The entrance gate is quite small.
Stayed here for 3 days, it was very comfortable with the room and service. The staffs are the kindest, and very warm. Kinda forgot that we had the breakfast included for the stay, but the staffs reminded by providing the breakfast to the room in the morning. It is a perfect location to stroll around the area, including Bakmi Jawa that opened in the middle of the night. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable!

United KingdomRoom without windows, mould in the bathroom, damp smell in the room because the bath room's extraction is poor and all the damp comes into the room. Breakfast choice is either chicken rice or toast, so no vegetarian or celiac option, which we needed both. School is across the street, so 7am school racket will most definitely wake you up. Also, mosque is near by, and prayer calls will wake you up from 5am.

SpainIs in front of a school and the kids start doing noise (a looot of nooise) at 7am. This in addition to the fact that the hotel is near a mosque and they start praying at 4am, so it would be great if you bring with you earplugs.
