Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThis was the cuetest family we've met so far on our trip! The house was super clean and very beatiful. They were very helpful with planing our trip, gave us a lot of tips about the region and we could use their scooter to get around. We would absolutely recommend this stay if you are in Java and want to visit Borobudur.

LuxembourgOur stay with Dian and Andreas was wonderful! The first day they invited us for lunch with their family for Eid Mubarak at a nice restaurant. This was totally unexpected but very kind ☺️. During our stay they always offered us snacks or tea and made sure my girlfriend was feeling better (she was a little bit sick). Dian prepared us a different breakfast each morning and Andreas walked with us a little bit around the rice paddies and gave us some fruits. Their home is in a very rural and calm area, surrounded by beautiful nature. It is easily reachable from the city by Grab or Gocar. The room was clean, cozy and had AC. I would definitely come back again and recommend this place to other people! Thank you☺️

Beautiful and unique homestay in nature. Andreas and Dian and their family were wonderful hosts and gave many helpful recommendations as to where to visit in the area. The house itself was stunning, having been designed and built by Andreas who is a talented artist. It is an easy motorbike ride away from Borobudur! The bike we rented at the homestay was one of the best we've used while travelling. We were also shown around the local village and saw the rice plantations which was really interesting. A truly authentic vibe with lovely people. Thank you guys!

United KingdomOne of the most unique places I've stayed! The interior of the place was beautifully decorated by the host (the father of the little family). He has built the place and decorated himself, obviously with a lot of love and care. The family were so welcoming and inviting, we felt like part of the family during our stay. A super special place.

The hosts really made us feel a part of their super welcoming family, truly an unforgettable stay. Dian and Andreas always showed interest in how our day was, if we needed anything, and they were also very interested in our lives back home. We exchanged many stories, making our stay at Gado-Gado very pleasant. We are surely gonna miss them.

SloveniaThe rooms are pretty basic and the location is a bit out of the city, but this are just minor inconveniences and I would still recommend this place to everyone.
It's the people that make this place special. The hosts are one of the warmest, kindest and most welcoming and helpful people that we met in Indonesia. They speak English so the communication is easy, you can always get good advice from them. They also showed us around the neighbourhood, forest and rice field which was a memorable experience. Thank you again for everything! The breakfast was good. We were also able to rent a scooter for a very good price. Another special thing about this place is the house that is beautifully designed and painted. The location is a bit far from the city, but it's in the nice village street, surrounded by rice fields and forests.

GermanySometimes the room got a little bit hot and there was only a ventilator and no A/C. (like it’s written in the description). We didn’t mind, but there was no hot water.
Dian and Andre welcomed us warmly at the Gado-Gado BnB and offered us a tea. We arrived at 8 AM and could immediately check into our room and take a shower. If you are looking for a calm and relaxed stay in the nature, you will love this place! We went for a long walk with Andre and he showed us many different kind of fruits, we even tried some of them, rice fields and a rice factory. We were fascinated by the beautiful nature and the friendly people that live here. We learned a lot about Indonesian culture, and food and the life outside of the city. Dian and Andre made us feel at home in their beautiful, self-built house, which has a relaxed and easy-going vibe. They are really interested in getting to know you and helping you out if you need help. Andrè even went to the bank with us the help us with our credit cards. The breakfast was special and different each day and very tasty. We also rented a scooter for 24 hours for 70.000 Rupiah. After they gave us some recommendations, we visited a beautiful waterfall mountains, which was 30 minutes away by bike. If you like to play football, there is also a futsal pitch close by. We visited the place in the evening and got to know friendly Indonesian students, who let us join their game. There is a small shop 20 meters away from the BnB and you can easily access the main road by foot and find some tasty and cheap street food.

ItalyHonesty is one of my core principles that I try to follow but unfortunately the images you see on booking are from the living room (that you can't book) and not from the room itself. They give you the option to book the "room" with multiple windows and large bed but that does not exist. In my opinion not fair and when I asked for that room she said "I am sorry it does not exist". Not fair to the guests.
In general a nice stay if it wouldn't be for the untruthfullness of the listing...
