If you’re a sunrise person this might not be the place for you, but if you’re a sunset person - this is is it!

Great location by the beach in a calm area of Gili Air. Surrounded by great restaurants and beautiful sunsets. Welcome drink was soooo good!! All the communication with the manager was great & I got many great recommendations on what to do, where to go etc. She was always available for any questions through WhatsApp. I was able to get late check out which was a bonus. Also very nice staff in the restaurant, easy bike hire and generally a pleasant visit.

Great place to stay in Gili Air. Bungalows are exceptionally well decorated and comfortable. 2 steps to the sea. Super nice staff, great localisation. Go for it!

We had a great stay here. The room was very clean, and the staff were always friendly and polite. We want to say a big thank you to Nora — she was very helpful, kind, and always ready to assist with any questions. It really made us feel welcome. We hope to come back again. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic accommodation! Clean, loved the outdoor bathroom, gardens are beautiful. Pool always clean and gardens well maintained. Restaurant right on the beach - lovely place to stay! Staff are AMAZING!

Really have nothing to complain about. (Just note, there are a LOT of mosquitoes- not in the rooms though)

This island was like visiting a different world. The accommodation was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly. We didn't eat every meal there because there are so many choices around the whole island which you can literally walk around. But the meals we did have there, were really good, especially the sushi.

Would be a good idea to inform the guest that the wifi is unstable in case people want to work during their stay. I also think it is a good idea to get more lamps in the reception area to make it brighter and more inviting.

We really enjoyed the location, the staff is great, and how nicely they cleaned the bedroom every day. We received a very good service when the internet didn't work properly. The sushi is good, breakfast too!

Wifi is not optimal in the rooms

Personell was great. Really attentive and extending our stay was possible. When there was a issue with our toilet, a handyman was there in 30 minutes. We changed rooms after it appeared it could not be fixed immediately. We recommend to book the luxury rooms. More spacious and seems to be build a bit more recent. Practical on the beach. Road in google maps is just a sandstrip dividing the restaurants with the beaches. Great sunset and at certain spots on the strip some entertainment in the evening.

2 power outlets available in the unit/cabin, which was just enough for me (others might want to bring a power board or double adaptor), though none in the bathroom. Could do with more hanging rails or hooks for towels in the bathroom. It's a tricky 2 steps down into the bathroom in the dark at night, be mindful especially if not exactly sober! Also a bin in the room, not just the bathroom, would be handy.

Staff is great, very solicitous, location is great, on the beach, sunset views, and far enough away from the mosque loudspeaker call to prayer for it not to be annoyingly intrusive. Food quality is good but the espresso coffee and sushi was similarly priced to back home so I usually ate elsewhere, apart from breakfast. They make the bed and clean the room and replenish drinking water every day. Pool is smallish but nice. Some umbrellas over some sun beds would be a nice option. Wifi was mostly good enough for me (range extender close by), just dropped out occasionally. Water pressure in the shower was just enough for me but I don't have long, thick hair to wash (water is a bit of a precious resource on the island, could be the reason).

All the staff are very attentive and friendly. We were received by Selamat who told us that we can call him anytime if needed help while on the island. The beach on this western side of the island is lovely and the sunset is spectacular.

I didn't like having to leave this place

The manager there is soo awesome. She bends over backwards in order to make your stay awesome. Restaurant is also amazing great sushi wonderful breakfast. Pool is amazing.

The AC in our family suite was a bit small compared to room size , so it took a lot of time to cool the temperature, it’s suggested that a big AC may be fitted

The shower pressure was very weak.

I loved this place. The staff was always very attentive and available, and the facility was great. The location is also amazing—close to the sunset area and far enough from the mosque to enjoy a quiet night of sleep. I would definitely go back again.

Me and my husband stayed at Hakuna Matata for 2 nights. We were warmly welcomed with a drink by the friendly hotel manager. The room had what we needed and was decorated with beautiful flowers. Location was right at the beach, 10 min by bike from the «town». Unfortunately the surroundings were quite torn down, which reflected the general vibe of the island. And on our first night (Friday) we were unable to sleep due to a neighbouring rave lasting from 10pm - 7am! Quite surprised and disappointed as we chose the island based on the more quiet vibe. The hotel booked an affordable group snorkelling trip for us, but we would recommend to book a private/ smaller group trip externally.

Beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms and very friendly staff! Easy to walk around the island. They also have a good restaurant with nice views. The only improvement point is that the bathroom floor gets all wet when you shower as the water strainer is on the other side of the bathroom, crossing from the shower to the toilet. Not a deal breaker, we would still stay here again.

Amazing and cosy bungalow near the beach, surrounded by plants and peacefulness, comfy bed and pillows, cold aircon, the cleanest place I have been so far, wonderful food and drinks in the restaurant with an amazing sunset view! The staff was great, always smiling and asking you if needed something! Loved the detail of the outdoor couch ❤️ They even did some birthday decoration for me!You don't have to miss it, if you are in Gili Air!Will be definetely back!❤️
