CanadaBobby! The beds bro! A little nicer mattresses and a second pillow - were Westerners, we are soft! Charge everyone 10$ a night more and upgrade that and it would be a perfect stay.
Bobby the owner is a beauty. He really goes above and beyond for you. He hasn't overwhelmed him self for extra money and focuses his attention on his select few guests. It's a great recipe. The property is gorgeous for being so small and it's perfect place to chill out

Singaporethe bed wasn't great and the pillow smelled bad. Also, there wasn't much privacy as there are windows everywhere and people could see through.
Beautiful environment. The owner put a lot of effort building this place. The pool was refreshing and very clean. The breakfast was fine (you can choose between eggs or omelette and they give you fruit, coffee or tea). The owner is super friendly and can help you organize your days around Borobudur. Only 10 mins away from the temple by car.

Loved our stay here - so much better than a generic hotel! So tastefully decorated from the entrance door and koi fishpond through the beautifully designed grounds that looked like a little fairytale with the pool, fairy lights and traditional Java rooms to our beautiful room (white deluxe one with a lovely colourful sofa outside) with a comfy bed, barefoot chic bathroom, good a/c, fridge if you need it, easy wifi. The owner Bobby was great from start to finish, excellent comms and info upfront, extremely helpful with our Borobadur tickets, very welcoming and always available to help. Go on the village tour with him - it’s a fascinating window into the natural abundance of the countryside and the lives of the super friendly people who live there. My mini morning walk around the corner to see the sunrise between two volcanos and get a smile and a selamat pagi from all the villagers coming past was magical too. Loved it all. Thanks Bobby!

Janur bungalow is a small (5 bungalows) and charming hotel on a hill overseeing the ricefields. Good location to explore Borobudur. Friendly and helpful owner Bobby sees to your needs (dinner and driver). Tastefully designed rooms and central area. Good breakfast.

SwitzerlandThe walls of the bungalows are quite thin, and the local mosques do the call to prayer at 4 am. This does add to the cultural immersion aspect, but it was hard to get a full night's sleep.

United KingdomConsidering we were pretty much out in the sticks it was remarkably noisy with 3 muezin singing over the top of each other and also loud music playing late at night / early morning - although that might have had to do with the independence day celebrations which were going on.
Loved the place! We felt spoilt and pampered as if we were on honeymoon 🙂 Rooms are great, staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is a bit outside of Borobudur, so you will need transport wherever you go (we hired motor bikes).

The host picked us up from the airport. The plane was delayed and we arrived at the airport very late. We were very hungry. On the way back to the hotel, he took us to have a bowl of amazing chicken soup. The hotel is nice and beautiful, carefully decorated every corner, well consider and well equipped. The owner is very warm and welcoming. It is a beautiful hotel very close to Borobudur. I will recommend it to everyone.

AustraliaNo restaurant but was able to order in uber eats. A noisy family of kids screaming at 6am was awful, but not the hotels fault.
The place is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully decorated. The staff are fabulous and the breakfast was amazing. A few kilometres from the temple in a peaceful setting. My favourite was the swing hammock on the verandah. Would highly recommend for a peaceful stay.
