How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewA true slice of paradise ! We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this property! The bungalows are spacious, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped. You instantly feel transported, surrounded by nature, with all the modern comforts. Waking up each morning to that stunning view was pure joy. The staff is simply exceptional: warm, attentive, always smiling, and ready to help. You can truly tell they love what they do, and it makes all the difference. A big thank you to the entire team for their amazing hospitality! A special mention goes to the restaurant: the food is delicious, homemade with fresh ingredients, and the menu is varied. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was a real treat. The setting is beautiful, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. In short, a place not to be missed! We will definitely come back with our eyes closed.

Verified reviewThe property is located right in the sunset spot of the island,you can walk easily from the room to the beach. The building is new and very clean, staff was so helpful the restaurant is so nice and also good food, highly recommend this place 😍
No hot water for the shower but wasn’t a problem because you will mostly go and swim in the beach 😉

Verified reviewNewly built bungalow, very clean room and bathroom, AC works well, nice porch, in a quieter area with a gorgeous view of the sunset, very kind staff who went out of their way to help us.
Our room was listed as "sea view" but actually faced the adjacent Nusa Indah Bungalows, only one pillow provided per guest and when I asked for one extra I was told it wasn't possible, there are quite a few gaps in the construction where bugs can get in but the bug net was ripped with a giant hole so it was useless, no hot water, no beach towels provided (which we've had at less expensive places), and breakfast is not included with the room but can be purchased for 110k/pp. At $75USD/night I expected more of these amenities to be included.

Special shout-out to our team — your kind words will warm their hearts (not just because of the tropical climate ! ). Now, about the little things that disappointed you — we totally understand, and we take your feedback very seriously : The "sea view" : it seems the sea decided to play hide and seek that day… We'll make sure to update the listing to avoid any future confusion. The pillows : one per person is standard, but we get it — not quite enough for those who like to build a fortress of fluff. We’re working on bringing in some extra reinforcements soon ! The torn mosquito net : that one’s top priority to fix (even the mosquitoes have their limits — we promise !). No hot water : sadly, it’s part of the island life here. But we’re looking into more comfortable options — without losing the charm of the experience. No beach towels : great point — and definitely something we’ll consider adding. Breakfast not included : it’s available as an add-on, but we promise every bite is worth its weight in papayas We’re truly sorry that some aspects didn’t quite match your expectations for the price. Gili Air is a little slice of paradise… but not quite five-star just yet. Verified reviewBeautiful beach hut, very spacious and lots of space. The staff, especially Zeydan, were very friendly and made our stay even better. WiFi is very good and you can get some work done sitting on the beach. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the sunset view stunning. Overall a perfect stay!
