Everything was wonderful. This is a magical place to stay in Ubud. We had one of the rooms with the bath and view of the forest. Room was clean and spacious and all of the little details made it great. Beautiful infinity pool overlooking the forest, gym, spa and delicious breakfast. Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to make everything perfect. Would definitely come back to stay here again if back in Ubud. A luxury stay.

We had an ant infestation in our room which the staff immediately strang into action and dealt with!

Staff are just amazing at this hotel! They make you feel like a million dollars! Location is nice and quiet but a bit out of the way. This can be a pro as well as a negative - I thought it was a good balance between the craziness of Ubud and the serenity of the hotel

The moment we checked out we have started missing this place, and haven't stopped ever since. Our stay in Kastara Resort was outstanding and extraordinary. Accommodation, food, staff, views, general wellbeing was unmatched! Hotel is designed to create a magical, relaxing atmosphere. Every little detail was thought off. Staff is extremely engaged and carrying, making us feel like home. Views are great - located in a calm neighbourhood, far away from the city noises. All rooms and pool are facing the nature. Breakfasts and everything we tried in the restaurant were super tasty and made of the high quality products. The hotel provides wide range of food options, including different dietary restrictions (gluten free/vege). Hotel is not too big, so there is an intimate, individual-oriented atmosphere. Extra activities are also a plus! Rooms are sparkling clean, equipped with unique comfortable furnitures, soft linens and great smelling cosmetics. We are still amazed by our stay and have to admit that we have never been so satisfied with a hotel stay before. Kastara Team - you are doing it GOOD! Thank you once again for this wonderful experience!

The jungle setting! The food, cocktails, room, staff, spa and pool. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. A lovely 40 min walk into the centre of Ubud down a quiet ridge path. We did a cooking class with the wonderful head chef. Everything a little this hotel was spot on. Loved the spa too. Best part of our Bali trip was at this location.

Our stay at Kastara Hotel was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. The rooms are beautifully designed with stunning views of the lush jungle. A highlight of our stay was having breakfast in the pool — such a unique and dreamy experience, surrounded by nature and tranquility. The infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel is peaceful and relaxing. We also loved the live music in the evening; it added such a warm and magical touch to the whole experience. Every detail, from the delicious food to the attentive service, exceeded our expectations. We can’t recommend Kastara Hotel enough for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway!

We had the most amazing stay at this resort. The entire resort is very thoughtfully and beautifully decorated. We loved that the resort had everything one would need in a place like Bali. There is an infinity pool with lounge chairs and sofas offering both open and shaded areas. There is a poolside restaurant that offers lunch and dinner. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. All 3 meals are great with a variety of options. I loved the smoothies and juice options! Oh and they have Hookah too!!! Every evening to resort has some special event- live music, local Kecak dance, blues night were a few that we were able to attend. The resort also offers yoga on certain mornings which we were able to participate in. It was great! The spa is great too. We tried different treatments all of which were beyond our expectation! The location was just right for us. A bit of a distance from downtown Ubud but still close enough to walk to or take a short car/ scooter ride. It was close to Monkey Forest, Tagallalang rice field and other attractions. There were several other restaurants within walking distance which gave us the option to try something different without having to travel too far. Lastly, the staff are just amazing! They were always ready to assist us in any way we needed. Hospitality in Bali overall is amazing but Kastara resort did it the best! Our room was always cleaned promptly. The staff checking in regularly with us to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. I can keep going on and on and I am sure I am forgetting so many things. I definitely recommend this place and I know I will be insisting anyone I know coming to Ubud to stay at Kastara!

One small note: I believe more attention could be given to the bed sheets, especially regarding their cleanliness and freshness of smell.

The hotel is truly wonderful, starting from the warm welcome at reception and the friendly staff, to the cleanliness and well-maintained facilities. It’s a great place if you are looking for a quiet stay, and I appreciated how attentive they were in controlling insects

Pool side service can be improved. Most of the time we had to walk to the restaurant to order because waiters ignored the poolside beds.

Our second time here, and it was as perfect as we remembered it from our honeymoon. The view from the balcony is mesmerizing.

The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. With the forest right in front of you, it’s truly something special. It’s super quiet and feels like a safe haven right in the middle of Ubud. Walking to the city center from up there doesn’t take too long, and the route is actually very scenic and enjoyable. The spa team was excellent. We had a few massages and loved every one of them – definitely a highlight for me, to be honest. The hotel’s restaurant served some amazing dishes. We also enjoyed a Kawa dinner with the lovely Indra, who put on an incredible fire show! We absolutely adored it. We also joined the Ubud tour offered by the hotel, and our guide/driver Santika was fantastic. We had such a great time with him – he explained a lot about Balinese culture and everyday life. Thank you, Santika! You’re amazing! All in all, it’s a hotel I would definitely return to. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Thank you dear team kastara - we had a wonderful time!

The position is quite far from Ubud and might take a lot of time to go in the center due to traffic

You can't order a Gojek or Grab from the area as there is a ban in the village but the hotel orders you a very cheap taxi which were always on time

The staff were all very welcoming and polite and pulled out all the stops to make our stay with them memorable and perfect! We attended a cooking class at the resort as part of our stay. Fully recommended!!!
