Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAs usual, from the greeting upon arrival to the assistance upon leaving, the Kebun Indah staff excel in their hospitality, friendliness and efficiency. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in this tranquil haven, that still remains so, despite a now very developed Ubud that surrounds it. It's a great place to be based as you can easily walk anywhere and don't have to be in the never-ending traffic, the breakfasts are excellent and served on your terrace or balcony, the pool offers a welcoming dip, the complimentary afternoon tea is always yummy and staff friendly and informative. They still have the little shrines outside each room that are refilled and blessed each day and mosquito coils lit outside your door before sunset. The list of positives could go on ... Love this place.

We were assigned a wonderful room! The accommodation in Bali is excellent value for money, and the location is perfect — right in the city center, yet wonderfully quiet. The staff were incredibly generous and warm, always ready to help us solve any problem (like forgetting our keys). Their service was truly impeccable! Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a delicious drink 🥤 full of love ❤️. The afternoon treat, a green coconut dessert, was absolutely amazing! I don’t even know what it was, but it was so delicious it brought me to tears! I just wish they could tell me where to get it again. When they found out it was our birthday the next day, they surprised us with a warm pancake — so thoughtful and heartwarming. What an absolutely wonderful experience!

Hong KongUbud traffic is very congested. That said as long as you hang out in the hotel and the bars and restaurants around it as well as the yoga centres and spas it is not a problem.
I loved the gardens with the many Buddhist statues and ponds and the spiritual feeling it brought. The location is perfect at the centre of Ubud yet very peaceful. I went every day to Lumeria for yoga and sound healing. It’s an easy walk from the hotel via the main road. Staff are fantastic in this hotel.

SwedenThe pathway to get to the hotel it’s quite dark at night
This hotel has a unique charm and essence, making you feel like you’re right in the middle of the jungle. It’s a place with history, so the property has its years, but it’s very well maintained. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing. You do need to walk a few minutes from the main road to reach the hotel, which might be a bit inconvenient if you’re carrying large suitcases (we had backpacks, so it was fine). Our room was next to the pool, which also meant going up and down stairs — not an issue for us, but something to keep in mind. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

GermanyBreakfast perfect, hotel staff perfect, location perfect! One of the best hotels I‘ve ever been in more than 50 different countries. Molly, Jos and Robby (nickname Robot) and all members of the staff were always extraordinarily friendly and helpful and make my stay more than comfortable. I plan to come back to the hotel a second time together with my family!

NetherlandsThe swimming pool did not look so attractive. At arrival late in the night I had to walk 150 mtr trough a small pathway with my heavy suitcase. A lot of stairs to arrive in the room.
Oasis in the middle of a crazy busy city.

Traditional style which felt very homely and welcoming. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Tucked away from busy main road, its tranquility is a welcome relief after a busy day. Loved the outside bathroom as well - what a treat! Breakfast delivered to our own balcony each morning was lovely too.

GermanyNothing to complain about
This hotel is an absolute dream. Although it is located in the busy area of Ubud, it is set off the main road. As soon as you step through the archway, you find yourself in paradise. The garden is incredibly beautiful, and the view from the terrace is fantastic. In the morning, you can have breakfast brought to your room while enjoying the wonderful view and listening to the birds. Don't miss out on the Nasi Goreng! It's gorgeous! My bungalow was huge and very clean. The bed was not too soft, which I really liked. The bed linens and towels were clean and smelled great. 🌸🌸🌸 You have everything you need—plenty of power outlets, adapters, toiletries, and water dispensers that are refilled as needed. If you want dinner or lunch, you just have to walk up to the main street, where you'll find a wide selection of restaurants. Alternatively, you can order food from Café Wayan and enjoy it on the terrace. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the prices are more than fair. But the best part is the staff. You won’t find anything like this anywhere else in Bali. It doesn’t feel like staying at a hotel—it feels like being part of a warm and loving family. Always kind, always friendly, and always helpful. You can ask anything, and they’ll immediately assist you with advice and support. I booked a trip to the Jatiluwih rice terraces and the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, and it was wonderful. The driver was very kind and drove safely. I was so relaxed that I even fell asleep on the way back. I originally planned to stay for only four nights, but I found it so incredibly beautiful there that I extended my stay by another four nights. Since my bungalow was already booked for someone else, I was allowed to move into a truly huge suite—at the same price. Which was an unbelievable offer. The suite was so spacious that I almost felt a little lost 🤣🤣 but the staff was always happy to have a chat, making me feel right at home.
