How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat location, downtown Ubud and Monkey Forest within walking distance. The staff was lovely, kind, and accommodating, and cared for the guests, which was highly appreciated. It was my daughter‘s fourth birthday, and they even brought her a cake. I did not book anything beforehand, and Putu helped me secure a driver. I have a fantastic rate compared to what you will be able to find on the streets, and I had a great time seeing everything

Verified reviewNice and central location in walkable distance from Ubud center, while being surprisingly peaceful even during the day. The building is brand new and well-equipped, the rooms are big and comfortable, and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. Putu and Yoga are doing a great job of keeping everything in a top condition. We stayed 5 nights and felt at home. They also provide good breakfast with many options. Best to ask Putu if you have dietary restrictions so they can adjust.
Maybe only our room was affected but you could hear the pump whenever someone in the building used water. Not a major distraction for us but still noisy.

The bathroom was clean with nice furnishings, however the floor had a incorrect tilt, causing water to pool up at the sink area.no signage at the alley, difficult to find!

Verified reviewGorgeous place to stay in Ubud! So close to cute cafes, shops, restaurants, markets, monkey forest. It's tucked away so made it slightly more difficult to find in the beginning but once I was there the location really was perfect and Grab drivers came right to the door for pick ups & food delivery. The staff were so friendly and the kitchen was really clean too! Even with my couple of points of things that weren't 10/10, I would definitely stay here again :)
I think there must have been a sulphur issue in the pipes as the water smelled really bad when first using the shower everyday. I also found that the hot water didn't last long in the shower, maybe as I was showering in the evening although this didn't bother me too much. The wifi worked fine but I had to go outside my room to use it properly as the signal didn't reach half of my room. It was fine as there's seating outside you can use so it worked out fine for my work calls but it would have been easier if I could use the wifi in the room too.

Verified reviewPutu and Yoga were exceptional hosts. Even the villa owner and his family allowed us to participate in their ceremony. We were there with a 1 year old and staffs walked the extra mile to make us comfortable. We will definitely book Kemari Ubud again.

Verified reviewThe personnel, Yoga and Putu were fantastic, helping with everything, they made delicious juices and breakfasts I enjoyed from my terrace. They arranged for me also the laundry service. The pool is really refreshing and the room is clean and new. I used grab scooters from the place to reach center without walking too much

Verified reviewVery cozy and clean place. Pleasant design, comfortable bed, everything is new. Quiet location, but still easy to get to the center. Friendly staff. The pool access is more convenient from the rooms located downstairs. But for us, having a pool wasn’t essential.
