Laura’s backpackers was amazing, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are good and the staff are amazing! Laura comes by every night to give some recommendations and talks to people. The hostel gave me a real family feeling since it’s so easy to meet people. I think this has been the most sociable hostel i’ve ever been in. Don’t doubt between the other hostel, come here. You can also rent some scooters at the reception for a good price.

Would have been nice with a lamp near my bed

Nicer vibe at the hostel. Free breakfast and dinner. Very easy to socialize. You just sit down at the big table and suddenly you have friends. Laura comes in every evening during dinner, and helps with travel tips, bookings, where to do my nails etc. Nice staff, slept well in my bed.

8 people dorm is a little bit small but totally aligned with price

The hostel is located 10/15 min walking from Malioboro street/train station and 25 min from the main attractions in Jogja. Dinner and breakfast were included in the price: they were pretty simple but delicious, especially the tempe! Dinner is served in the cozy common area where it’s so easy to get along with other travellers, which made the stay at Laura’s special. Laura is a great host and she’s always ready to give the best tips to explore Jogja and surroundings the best way. Totally recommendeded!!

Only one bad point , I saw a live wild animal I think a piton used to entertain the guest , I did not get involved in the species argument ,but personally I did not like it , I love animals in the bush ,in freedom. See animals , especially when they are iconic wild like snakes used as a "mascot " is a bit sad. Isn't anything bad for the hostel , the snake was not free and all the other guests were liking it, I think they asked to see and touch it. It is probably like a pet of the owner or someone in touch with the hostel and it was not mistreated at all , if passing hands by hands is cool for the poor snake, getting used to it is not proving that it is liking it. Lo

Pretty much everything, the environment is a proper backpacker style , full of young travelers happy to share space, very good space organising . Clean and decent toilet , compy bed and free breakfast and dinner are courtesy .could be a 10 see below why I did not.

The bed surface does not seem to be even due to the base of the bed is not flat. This could be easily fixed by adding a triplex wood beneath the bed, so the bed stays flat. Another thing that can be considered for improvement is adding a curtain in each bed for extra privacy, and add one more plug in each bed (they only have one).

Pretty good value for money, and they provide free dinner and free breakfast! Unfortunately i checked in too late and i missed their dinner. The crews were super friendly and helpful. They have a warm shower, too. The location is close to one of the major train stations in Yogyakarta.

Only discomfort was my bed. Middle part was sunk and it really was horrible for my waist. I tried to sleep around it and always rolled back in the sunk part lol

Laura is a great host, helps you as much as she can, becomes a friend and a great guide for the city. Having both breakfast and dinner is really good for socializing. Met many people there and had fun in the city. Dinner area is super cool. I really enjoyed my stay there.

I have two humble suggestions for this lovely hostel: 1. Unfortunately, the smoking area isn’t separated from the outdoor common area, and smokers tend to smoke carelessly. In the future, it would be great to designate a specific smoking area outside so that non-smokers can also enjoy the outdoor space without being disturbed by the smoke. 2. The neatly arranged indoor working space doesn’t have a fan, nor do the hallways or corridors where there are sofas and desks. Adding fans in these areas would be a great improvement, making the stay even more comfortable. Note: The bed lights in the female dorm need to be fixed or replaced, as two or three of them are not functioning properly.

Great value with included breakfast and dinner. The staff and owner are kind and helpful. My one-night stay turned into five nights because of the great value and friendliness. The place doesn’t get extremely loud, which is great, yet still offers opportunities to socialize if you feel like to socialise. It’s not spotless, but it’s not filthy either—generally tidy. Both the rooms and common areas are mopped and swept daily. The toilets are clearly checked regularly, as there’s always toilet paper, and the shampoo and shower gel are consistently refilled. The hostel has a spacious and pleasant outdoor seating area with wooden furniture. There’s also an indoor workspace with desks, tables, and power outlets, which is great if you need a quiet place away from the smoke outside.

We had a slight unpleasant smell in the room but it wasn't unbearable. If you get the double room by the reception it does get a bit noisy so if you are light sleeper something to consider.

This is probably the best value for money you could ever get. Price includes breakfast and dinner which was both great. The staff are really helpful and if you are lucky you get to see the Phyton they look after sometimes too.

Certain rooms have issues such as lack of amenities and limited space for luggage. Due to its central location, noise from the surrounding area can be a disturbance during the night.

The hostel offers free breakfast and dinner daily, providing an excellent opportunity to socialize with fellow travelers. The owner is known for her warm hospitality and helpful recommendations, enhancing the overall guest experience. Situated in the heart of Yogyakarta, the hostel provides easy access to various city attractions.
