How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe vibe is amazing, looks are 10/10. Pool area was nice, but not spectacular. It's also far from the hustle and bustle which is both an upside and downside. The area on the beach has a great vibe about it though, many nice places to sit at and marvel at the view. Cheap scooters available that made travel to popular areas easy.
Staff was friendly but rigid when it comes to what's possible (menu changes). They'd picked a fight over a coffee they thought I hadn't paid for. That was disappointing. I had paid for it but just paid again to get away from it. It's beyond me why you'd make that hard as we spend about $1500 at the place.

Outside resort and leading to and at the beach lots of litter, which has nothing to do with the resort. So if you just stay at the resort it's fine.

Verified reviewThe bungalow itself was beautifully designed, with high ceilings, a comfortable bed, and a relaxing ambiance. The check-in process was quick, and the staff at the front desk were courteous. I really enjoyed my Balinese massage (though there was an issue I’ll mention below). The highlight of my stay was the food , it was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. My compliments to the chef and kitchen team for elevating the dining experience. The waitresses and staff were professional courteous.
Unfortunately, my stay was marked by several avoidable issues. The A/C was weak and the room was extremely hot upon arrival. The bathroom had no fan or ventilation, making it uncomfortable and full of mosquitoes when the window was opened. Water cut off mid-shower while I was covered in soap and shampoo, forcing me to walk across the property wrapped in a towel to find help ; unacceptable. Pool towels in my room were stained, pool furniture not well maintained, and the umbrellas were old and mildewed. There was no clear or consistent way to communicate with staff, as no WhatsApp chat was offered and one of the front desk attendants in the afternoon’s did not speak English. Dining at the restaurant was also uncomfortable as none of the 6 ceiling fans were ever turned. Most disappointing was the owner’s rudeness . I asked a simple question and was abruptly cut off with “I do not speak English” and a raised hand. It was the only rude encounter I experienced during my entire time in Bali. Lastly, the massage therapist attempted to crack my neck without asking, which I found inappropriate.
Dear Claudia, Thank you for your feedback, although we’re genuinely surprised by many of your comments, which do not reflect the reality of your stay nor the standards we uphold. 1. Regarding the “owner”: Yes, the owner is French and does not speak English. However, he is not involved in daily operations, nor in guest management. He was simply having lunch at the hotel. Our entire front office team speaks English, and we’ve never received complaints about language barriers before. 2. Your comment about the hotel “being better run by Balinese”: We find this inappropriate. In Bali, many hotels are owned by foreigners but run with full respect for local culture. Our entire operational team is Balinese, including our spa therapists, housekeepers, receptionists, kitchen staff, and maintenance crew. 3. Air-conditioning in the room: Our team always turns the AC on before a check-in. Perhaps in your case it could have been turned on a little earlier for extra freshness, and we will gladly review this with our staff. Still, our AC units are professionally serviced every three weeks, and we’ve never had recurring issues. 4. Front Office not speaking English in the afternoon: That is simply incorrect. We have two female front desk agents, both of whom speak English fluently and are trained to assist guests at all times during working hours. The male staff that you ask in charge as runner - apprentice for house keeper, for any request and more information he suggest you talk to Front Office staff. 5. Bathroom air-conditioning: In Bali, especially in bungalows and villas (even high-end ones), bathrooms are typically semi-open and do not include air conditioning. This is standard practice across the island, and not something exclusive to our property. 6. Temporary water issue: You are right — there was a short issue with the water pump, and we apologize for the inconvenience. It was fixed immediately. 7. Mini-fridge charges: As in most hotels, the mini-bar is not complimentary. All items have a price tag clearly displayed, and charges are standard policy. 8. Pool towels and umbrellas: Thank you for your input. We rotate and replace these frequently. Unfortunately, during the rainy season, some umbrellas may become dirty more quickly — we’re aware and on top of it. 9. Restaurant fans: We do not keep the fans running by default. Many guests prefer to dine without wind in their hair. We always ask the guests first and are happy to turn them on upon request. 10. Spa air-conditioning: Our spa is open-air with sea views, and is designed for a natural, peaceful experience. It is not meant to be air-conditioned. However, fans are used to ensure guest comfort. 11. Massage complaint: Our therapists are certified and trained, and they never perform chiropractic movements unless requested. We’re sorry to hear it wasn’t to your liking. 12. WhatsApp communication: We absolutely do have WhatsApp. In fact, we use it daily to communicate with guests. WhatsApp and our official number available in front office name-card, menu book in bedroom and in our official website too. Our team is responsive and available during working hours. I will start with what makes me leave this review. The day we were leaving we had to pay the bill for 2 coffees we had consumed, a dessert and a cocktail, we were paying when we realized that they were charging us for an extra drink that according to them we had consumed from the minibar in the bungalow, we told them no, they ended up calling everyone except the person who is supposed to do the cleaning and who counted or found that we had consumed something that was not. The situation was super unpleasant , I wouldn't mind paying the $4 for the soda if I had consumed it, the annoying thing is that they try to put something extra on the bill. Not to mention the prices were ridiculous expensive for anything you consumed there, I literally paid $8 AUD for a coffee with almond milk, not even in Sydney have I ever paid that for a coffee. On the other hand they are building next to the place so there were construction noises and trucks until late at night. This is a personal appreciation but I consider that the beach nearby is very ugly, except for surfing.

Verified reviewWe stayed in a bungalow with patio. Room was very spacious and really nicely decorated. Wood finish looked stunning throughout. Patio/terrace area has 2 comfy bean bags and table and chairs to choose from. The terrace looked out onto a garden view which was stunning this place really takes care of its garden area seen staff maintaining it everyday. Staff are first class smiles all round very helpful with anything and very attentive.
Water pressure in the shower was very weak. Poolside was good though. Had a power cut twice in one day not necessarily there fault but it did spoil one evening and limited one breakfast. Don’t be fooled by there happy hour it’s only for beer and you’d think it’s buy one get one free or 3 for price of 2, but only works out to be 5000 IDR off per beer that’s roughly 0.25p in pound sterling off. Not much of a saving. Cocktails too expensive and due to location there wasn’t many other bars to go to especially in rainy season Breakfast was passable but sausages were cold on both occasions.
