How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe had the 3 bedroom ethnic villa. The villa was spacious with access to the pool. The pool was quite small but nice. Place was clean and smelled very nice. Nice food and staff. It looked quite populated and it had lots of activities.
It was a little too pricey for what it was. We did stay in 5 star places at better prices. They asked for a deposit on arrival in cash which we didnt have. That was not an issue, however we only stayed for one night.

Verified reviewThe view from the dining room and the villa was unbelievable! The location is a little tricky to get to but it is well worth it! The restaurant was also fantastic
The only negative thing I may have is that the room had 2 king single beds pushed together to make a king size bed which is fine, however it was still made with king single sheets overlapping each other so if you are a couple that tends to sleep close to each other the sheets tend to split and then have no sheets left on in the night.

Beds a little hard and musty smelling rooms, staff were amazing, locations great, great pools, great menu, close enough to Ubud centre without the noise and hustle !

Damp and smelly bathrooms. Very old and neglected property. No proper lighting in the rooms when there is no sunlight. Disappointing breakfast. Very limited menu for dinner.

Verified reviewThe view of the rice fields in the breakfast, restaurant and swimming pool area was beautiful. The food was amazing, everything was delicious. The size and the decoration of the bedroom and the bathroom. The private pool in our balcony. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. We loved this place so much and had such an amazing stay at this hotel! It became one of our favourite hotels in the world!

Verified reviewWe checked in and got shown a room which after getting settled in we looked up and saw mold on the ceiling and looking at the bed there was a whole in the wall with wires coming out which made me feel uncomfortable. My partner could not stay in a room with mold in due to health reasons. We made a complaint and they said they couldn’t do anything for that night it was only when we went from booking.com and got an upgrade. Our next room was very nice but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Verified reviewWe stayed on the old building. The room was spacious. The old building has its own pool, it's really cute, just need to be a bit maintained (they put more efforts on the pool over the rice field). Staff is friendly like in all Bali.

The staff were not as friendly as we’d previously experienced, the property does not look like the pictures. It’s much more run down. I would not recommend the suites they’re dingy, damp and dark. This property is a 15 minute drive to Ubud Centre / Palace / Market

Excellent room with smart tv. The entertainment with food helped us feel we'd had a Bali experience. Excellent refreshing pool. Great stay.
Door lock was a padlock. Quirky but fine.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good, however, they don’t have enough space for all guests, so some people should wait while others finish.
There are two completely different parts to this place. One is the “nice” area with stand-alone villas for big groups or families. The other is an absolutely disgusting, run-down student (??) guesthouse for smaller families. I made the mistake of not paying close attention to the reviews — I was fooled by the pictures and the high price (100 EUR per night), so I booked without hesitation. When we arrived, I was shocked. The room stank, was filthy, and looked like a cheap hostel. The staff were utterly useless — repeating “we can’t help” like robots, without the slightest effort to actually help. To make matters worse, it was pouring rain outside, so we couldn’t drag our child through rice fields to find another place. Yet they still refused to offer any solution. I insisted on seeing another room or villa, and the only “option” they came up with was one for 318 EUR per night — the price of our entire booking — and even that one was damp, smelled of mold, there was no hot water in the bathroom, and only “redeemed” by a private pool. This place is a scam. The photos lie about rooms, the service is nonexistent, and the cheaper rooms are a disgrace. Avoid this dump at all costs.
