Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryStaff speaks OK English. We paid for breakfast extra but was not right away in the system, miscommunication. Also a bit of miscommunication between bar (top floor) and restaurant lower level on dinner, but not a big deal. Otherwise OK, they asked for lot of feedback which is fine too.
Its close to the railway station (to one of them the city has more than one), its a good idea that you can refill a juge of water and create less plastic. Staff was OK, the hotel is close to the "main downtown" street.

Hong KongDoes there have to be a window between the bedroom and bathroom? Because of this, when one of us goes to the toilet at night and switches on the light it wakes the other one of us in bed sleeping!
We rented 3 rooms for my wife's family and us. All good except one thing below.

AustraliaWe asked for a room at the back away from the regular night trains (an alarm sounds for every train when the road gets closed) and this strategy worked really well. Be aware though that the other side of the building is close to the broader community and hence the call to prayer is more noticeable.
We loved our stay at the Neo!! Easy walk from the train station (when arriving and departing) and only 100m to Malioboro street. Comfortable rooms and the included breakfast was awesome. Great value for money.

Perfectly located opposite the train station, the hotel is good value for money. They offered us free breakfast and free mini fridge contents.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with its excellent location. It’s just a short walk from Tugu Train Station, making it super convenient for travelers arriving by train. Jalan Malioboro, the city's famous shopping and cultural street, is also just a few minutes away on foot. Another plus point is the two convenience stores right next to the hotel, which makes it easy to grab snacks, drinks, or any essentials. For transportation, motor tricycles (becak) are always available outside, perfect for exploring the city if you don’t want to use Grab. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for convenience, easy access to transportation, and proximity to key attractions in Yogyakarta. Would definitely stay here again!

AustraliaThe breakfast toaster needs replacing - half the elements simply don't work! Hand towels in the bathroom would be nice. We bought our own for a few Rp from a local shop.
Perfect location, just a stroll across the road from the railway station which takes you to and from the airport. Neo is just around the corner from Malioboro Street, the main tourist street in Jogja, with much to see and buy if you're so inclined. The included breakfast was good, with plenty of choices. While the included coffee was OK, for a couple of dollars more we ordered excellent cappucinos most days. The room was more than comfortable enough for a 9 day stay, great aircon, always clean, and beds made twice a day. The bedside chocolate at night was a nice extra touch. All in all great value for money. Must-do things while in Yogyakarta include visiting the Kraton and Taman Sari, a day trip to Borobodur amd Merapi (AUD60 for the day with car and driver), a visit to Moesson Antiques for the most amazing antiques, try a cup of Kopi Lemak (Google to find out more), and have a couple of posh dinners at Hotel Tentrem and Sushi Tei if you don't mind spending up. Getting around is easy if you have the Gojek app on your phone. For day trips the hotel can organise a car and driver. Major shops and hotels take credit cards, but cash is necessary for smaller purchases. Australian tap and go doesn't work. Withdraw cash from reputable bank machines using your Australian card. Book your airport train using the KA Bandera app on your phone. The airport is a long way from town, and the train is the cheapest and quickest way to get into the city. Buy an e-sim for your phone before you go and you'll be connected from the moment you touch down.
