Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIn the unit where we slept (the room with the queen bed), the air conditioning was not cold, especially from morning until noon when we really needed it. As a result, when I was packing our things, I was sweating a lot. In the bedroom, the door was not very tight, leaving a gap that allowed mosquitoes to get in. On the upper part of the wall, I couldn’t clearly see whether mosquito netting was installed or not, but mosquitoes and insects still managed to come inside. Having a mosquito net over the bed would really help. Perhaps providing extra towels for swimming would also be nice.
The property comes with a swimming pool, a kitchen, and a dining area. The kitchen is also equipped with a refrigerator and a mineral water container, which was very convenient. The unit where we stayed consists of two separate buildings. Each building has one bedroom and one bathroom, one with a queen-size bed and the other with two twin beds which was perfect for our family of four. Both buildings are enclosed with a fence that can be locked at night for added security. There is also a spacious parking area outside the fence for this unit. Next door, there is another unit with a similar design but a smaller pool. Inside, it has just one queen bed along with a bathroom and toilet. This unit is also fenced and lockable, which provides a sense of safety. Because we came with 5 people, we booked both units, and it worked out perfectly.

SingaporeIt’s rustic, well maintained. The nearby mosque woke up the adults at 4.30AM, but the kids slept right through it!
The staff was fabulous, very friendly and helpful in making this a great stay for our family. We had a lot of space compared to any hotel room, plus an outdoor area to enjoy!

IndonesiaThe construct of the room was kind of like glamping with very thin glass walls, aluminum roof, and open air roofline This meant that we could heard everything and there was no privacy The bathroom sink didn’t work and the shower walls had black mold The bed had 2 pillows + a fitted sheet over the mattress but no blanket/cover. Luckily we had our own. We expected a more modern, concrete construct based on the photos + description
The staff were lovely and accommodating The location was great They allowed our dogs which is a huge challenge in Java = we are very grateful

ItalyThe property is a beautiful complex of small villas surrounded by nature, very convenient to visit the Borobudur temple. The furniture is minimalistic, with everything you need. The host is very kind and has been very helpful when needed.

NetherlandsAt night there were a lot of lights on to give the villas a luxurious effect, for me a little to much light around us. The water coming down in the pool has a nice effect, but made a lot of noise: would be nice if it could be switched off during the night.
Nice, modern villa with a little dip-pool to cool down after a warm day visiting the temples. The main building where breakfast and dinner were served is a beautiful old open wooden building: very nice atmosphere! We could lent bikes to ride around the rice paddies and around the village of Borobudur: very nice environment to discover this way!

AustraliaWe only stayed for one night after a tour of Borobudur and wish we stayed longer. The 2-Bedroom Villa was perfect for my travel friend and I to have seperate spaces but would suit a family. The location was stunning, off the main drag and nestled amongst the trees. The restaurant and also breakfast venue was a beautiful Java / Indonesian design with some traditional cottages onsite, that felt very immersive of the area. The staff both night and morning were very helpful, friendly and gave some great local tips. I borrowed a bicycle for free and rode around the local villages in the morning - recommend!! Breakfast was fantastic and if you were still hungry (we weren't!) there are free eggs and noodles in the Villa to help yourself you to. Thank you for having us stay, would love to visit again.

United KingdomCan't do laps in the pool but perfect to cool down and relax in the afternoon. Call to prayers can be heard which are common in Indonesia which can disturb your sleep around 5am, not too loud however. Overall we all really liked the stay and couldn't fault it.
Staff were on hand and very friendly. Nice and secluded location away from the busy streets next to Borobudur Temple. Bicycles to use free of charge. Good air conditioning in the rooms. Clean and modern feel.
